I like to call my character an elite ranger. He's equipped with elite riot gear, the medicine stick, a 12.7mm sub machine gun and a riot shot gun. He's done jobs for the ncr, but being the exceptional ranger that he is, he knows than independant vegas is the way to go. And he'll have fun bringing order to a land like that.

He's also a cowboy at heart. I use the hatchet to but I'm looking for another weapon

My character is very similar to yours but he believes in what the NCR is trying to do. He may not agree with the political side but soldiers never have been much for politics. My character wears the desert ranger armor and is equipped with the survialist rifle. He carries maria as a back-up weapon taken as a trophy from benny.
