I usually make Temple characters (Temple + House. Redoran Temple, now a Telvanni Temple, purely Temple (going to join Indoril later in TR) as well as some others. My Redoran character is also Morag Tong) very pious and loyal to the Temple but inquisative.

Their honor as a Redoran bounds them to their tasks, as a Telvanni they simply seek knowledge. And as an Indoril/Temple character they seek to find out their past more so and what is exactly happening in Vvardenfel that may threaten their House and Holy Temple.

Other than that? Dunno.

I imagine that it will be different if I had played the previous games, which I haven't. This character has been retconned whenever I feel like it, which is... Quite a bit. At the present moment, he's integrated into the Summerset Isles/AD vs. Imperial conflict, and is currently on flight from what appears to be a militant totalitarian regime. His family is a scholar, and, since not that much information is given in-game to tell us about Altmers, I made it up. :P His clan and all that is unknown, but it is clear that his father was implicated in the Oblivion Crisis due to the Altmeri obsession with ascension to Oblivion, while he himself was expressly forbidden to study Conjuration.

I have a fairly developed Dunmer, too, but he was never integrated into the lore so much as he was a result of the lore; second generation Dunmer of Skyrim, for instance, with a bent to listen to the destructive elements of his blood.

Brunjild Hanin, Nord female.
Last true Hanin, fed tales of past glories and Atmoran/Nordic history. Distrusts Elven Devils and thier false Pantheons. Thinks Ulfric is a useful tool for bringing the True Nordic Pantheon back to the Sons and Daughters of Kyne and Shor.
She has a respect for the Mages, as long as they do not use the Souls and Flesh of Honorable Dead.
She knows her Gods are Real, but the Elven and Imperialised versions are not going to be changed overnight. She will find a way to unmake them, and the Blue Dwemer Puzzle Box is the key...
Bisha, a Khajitt,
Followed the Master to Mundus, Has found Meeko. Will the Skooma Cat take pity on Bisha and let him stay with his new best friend?

All of my characters are simply wandering Dunmer wizards. Yes, pure wizards. No, never the same character.
