What Area's Do You Hope Are In the Ark and Container City?

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2010 7:06 pm

I personally can't wait to see where are travels of the Ark take us.

Personally my favorite area will probably be the "Farms" of the Ark. I'm sure SD will include this area to the maps and in my opinion it could prove to be the most impressive area and allow SD to show their design chops. I envision bright greens of fields coupled with the bright whites and blue hues that are natural to the Ark. I could find this area to be very much like the Biosphere in SD's other game Quake Wars. And this area is definitely the area I'm most anticipating, my second choice is probably the "Underbelly" of the Ark.

So which area do you envision could be your favorite and if you want you can give a description of what you would hope it looks like.

I would have to respectfully disagree with your opinion. I will probably spend most of my time in Container City jumping around shooting Resistance. Personally, the funnest part of the game will be the climbing, vaulting, mantling, and running down the tight spaces of the run-down urban settings. They made the game with the tight weaving passages of a run-down city with the idea that people would actually USE the SMART button.

Well, the way i understand it, every single map is going to have a different location a feel to it. With such varied maps on a fictual island, its hard to know whats going to be in the game as a map. It would be silly to pick one of the few maps shown and say that its your favorite location on the Ark. It would also be silly to start anticipating locations you expect to be in the game, considering they easily might not be.

I will say that of the 4 maps I have seen (Airport, Container City, Reactor, and the Sewers) I think Container city is the coolest and most immersive.

This is a bit off topic, but do we have any idea of how many total maps there will be when Brink is released? We've seen four so far, and considering this is a strictly multiplayer game, I'd say there'd be about 14-15 maps at release.

Well I've read plenty of places that the Ark has a "farm" of sorts. And being a ship it can't be wild and expansive like those we know. I just believe that the "Farms" of the Ark offer a great local and strategic, if the resistance takes over the food supple then what happens to the Ark. So I guess I chose the wrong words saying expansive. I guess it should have a confined but outdoorsy feel to it but still distinctly Ark-like.

By the way, I can say with some confidence that there will be a map based in/around the spire that dominates the Ark's landscape.

I still want an amusemant park. It is a resort so having a place to throw abandon entertain your kids would be needed.

However, it's not silly at all to say this'n'that location would probably be your favourite.

Personally I also hope SD will include the plantations of the ARK as a map, most likely giving you less of a vertical opportunity to SMART, but more horizontal ones.

Airport: Check
Shipyard: Check
Container city: Check
Founders Tower: Check
Sewer: I heard rumors, but I'm unsure
Also saw pictures of what seemed like a prison/security facility

I need: Prison, Supply/fuel depot or something, a boat, Some kind of 'original' city. Don't know what more to expect.

I guess there will be 8-14 maps, hoping for 14 ofcourse. Less than 10 are good if they are extremely well designed and/or balanced

Of course were else would the Resistance storm in their final mission?

I wish.

G'day, Matey's :intergalactic:
This answer*, of which follows, is in reponse to the original Poster of this here thread's question, of which question is:

In order to create "areas" of of the BRINK Video Game levels - - - The Ark and City Container - - - which in, BRINK Video Game Players may traverse through; in which BRINK Video Game Players may "camp"; etc; Splash Damage will need to study, anolyze, and critique the areas of any and all Video Game levels, of which are found in Video Games, of which were(indeed) created throughout Our Video Game History.

For instance, it will be most wise for Splash Damage to study, anolyze, and critique Their previous Video Games, of which are called: color="#9ACD32"]: Enemy Territory[/color], and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars levels. For Splash Damage to act most wisely, it will benefit us All, if Splash Damage were to study, anolyze, and ctique popular Amongst Video Game Players of each respective, aforesaid Video Gam of Splash Damage; hence, Splash Damage will discover why exactly, Their Previous Video Game levels were popular amongst all of Us Video Game Fans, of Their Games...once Splash Damage studies, anolyzes, and critiques exactly what, has made Their previous Video Game's levels popular amongst all of Us Video Game Fans of Theirs, by virtue of the popular levels' areas, of which has(and stilll is)making the popular levels popular, and/or a favorite, amongst all of Us Video Game Fans, of Splash Damage.

Thank You, come again.

G'day Everyone!!!!!!!!!

*And Matey's; this answer also is relevant to Splash Damage("SD" is a condensed form of saying Splash Damage, of Whom are the Video Game Developers; of Whom are all creating Our brand new Video Game, of which is called--BRINK--since Thread's original topic and/or question is one of which Splash Damage will ponder...)

Brink has some top rate level designers don't worry.

Also for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I'm going to speculate some more...and say that there will be DLC maps for this game.

Hopefully they'll be a little while off, I laughed to myself when new maps for Halo Reach were being sold two weeks after it came out.

Well, this isn't quite the type of game to have DLC for... Oh yeah, and the DLC for Halo Reach isn't even out yet. And Halo Reach came out in early October, so... that's not 2 weeks.

Sorry...I meant that the Reach DLC was announced just a couple of weeks after its release. That's my bad man.

And I don't see why this "isn't the type of game to have DLC for." If Brink successful enough, the developers are likely to release a map pack for it.

There is no game which is not the type for having DLCs.

And BRINK is especially the type for having them. Customisation is the best base for DLCs.

If they would just release an SDK, they would only have to pick the good custom made maps on the pc and port them to the consoles. They don't have to put a lot of effort in it, they please both console and pc community and it's free. :D

Agreed. I think the fast paced chases due to SMART will be one of the funnest parts. I probably would never stick in one area.

I'll just be happy to have the game in my hands, exploring all of The Ark will be a fun task in and of itself, not to mention multiplayer.
