What armor & clothing actually takes damage?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:57 am

Hello,

I am running a bunch of mods that add items likes backpacks, body jewelry, sunglasses, etc. My question is, do all these types of clothing/apparel actually take any damage? When viewing the items themselves, I see that they have a condition level. They take up apparel slots on your character like "eyeglasses, nosering, backpack, etc.", but when I tested it under some heavy gunfire and damage, it didn't seem like any of the items lost any to their condition level.

Am I missing something here? Do these items actually lose any condition when you take damage? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

whoever made the mod they are from might have put their condition health to like 100000, at which point it would take hours of constant damage to degrade a noticeable amount.

Also, the game seems to be set so only the main body parts take damage. For instance, any headwear that doesn't occupy the head or hair slot will never take damage.

Yep, it's body, head and hair slot items that can be damaged.

That makes sense. Yeah, I turned the condition levels down on those items to like 10, bumped up my health, and ran pretty much naked into battle. I didn't take any damage to my backpack, sunglasses, or nosering at all. Thank you very much for clearing that up for me!
