dont assume peoples ;) wait till you know for sure.

hmmm... I know Beth's got a special surprise for us in regards to armour. I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. I reckon it's something to do with the armour crafting.. maybe you can separate the sections yourself hmmm

:o please tell me its not one single falloutish blob ...... :tes:=/ :cryvaultboy:

I dunno why but I can stand all the other nerfing of the game , but reducing armour slots and stuff in fallout really annoyed me ....

could have sworn Todd said he made this game for the 360 and it would port OVER to the PC

Just before I saw this I realised I mixed up those words. Please just kill me now.

Edit: Sadly my stupid mistake means it is likely greaves are included in 'Armor'. This makes me very sad.

Same but twice I've been let down by mods on big games bringing false hope so I'm not expecting much. All I really want to see between now and the release date is more gameplay and the Q&A we've been waiting for. Honestly I think it will take us however long we have to wait to see our first dragon before we forget about the Armour problem.

while armor may be consolidated into one piece( cuirass, greaves) i feel with smithing you will be able to customize the armor to your liking. so though its one piece its still got your own flair on it. i think that seeing all the screen shots kinda confirm's this.
just my speculation.

I think the video is not really clear about the inclusion or not of greaves , I cut out a simple pic , red arrows show what seem to be greaves included in the single armour , the blue arrows tough seem to point to non present pants / greaves parts of the armour that seems not to be in the inventory item .....

Apart that I was pretty much convinced that the pants and greaves where a on another slot by this video , what Ashley said instead put doubts on that ..... I am still not really satisfied by the merging of shoulders , arms and chest into one single piece diversely from what was in morrowind ....

I'm really holding out on that Todd didn't have the whole set of armor. I'm also wondering if some armor might be one piece and others multiple. The DB armor in Oblivion was one piece (two if you count the hood), yet other armor sets were more.

I've not seen anything yet that supports the individual greaves idea but from some magazine pictures that I can't link because of this really stupid rule it looks like pauldrons may be separate.
In my opinion armour that you can't customise seems to go against the whole 'Be whoever you want' thing and I just can't see a good reason for doing this.

I'm going to be incredibly upset if there are only 4 quest groups like Oblivion again. That was the single biggest disappointment in that game. It's what this guy was hinting at =/.

It's not a stupid rule. Scans are a misuse of copyrighted material.

Losing an armour slot does not mean your interaction with the world has any less depth, unless armour slots is the most important element of gaming for you.

the appearance of armor in pics has nothing to do with whether something is considered a separate armor slot or not in your inventory.

The screens show little pouches, leather straps and many various components that make up each armor mesh, but that doesn't mean every single element will be a separate slot in your inventory.

Well since vsions is one of the game developers, specifically a character artist, I would take that pretty seriously. Mods have no say in what happens in the game, since they don't work at BGS, as where devs like vsions actually MAKE the characters in the game. If anyone could be an authority on what armor the characters can wear, I'd say it's him.

Point: Armor will be fine, and will in fact be better than ever. Think about the possibilities, be happy, and you'll be coming back to the forum when the game comes out to tell me how awesome the armor system is.

False dichotomy. Less variation in armour does mean less depth.

If Skyrim's number of quests is only comparable to Fallout 3's I will be incredibly disappointed. Fallout 3 had maybe 40-50 quests while Oblivion had well over 150... 50 hours of gameplay is not enough for an Elder Scrolls game. I know they've said there is 300+ hours of gameplay, but if that means 50 hours of quests and 250 hours of random, pointless dungeons, Skyrim will be a pretty big disappointment. And the crap with the legs, chest, and gauntlets being lumped together is also disappointing...

The more small details I find out about Skyrim, the more it seems like it's almost just an open world BioShock game with loot and perks...

Up until today I had the mindset that Bethesda has done no wrong with Skyim, but now I'm starting to change my mind a little... Hopefully I'm wrong.

I mean there were pictures where the pauldrons didn't match the chestplate (I forgot the proper name). In the instance I saw Dovakhiin was wearing leather armour with what appeared to be Iron Pauldrons. It seems unlikely that they would produce this picture if you couldn't even wear pauldrons. Almost as unlikely as oh I don't know an assassins creed trailer showing a crossbow in game when such an item doesn't exist.

The mods I meant were game developers but that doesn't matter. I'm not being overly negative about it because it's not that big a deal for me it's just a little disappointing. The only main issue I have is with the number of guilds and I WILL NOT BE HAPPY. The happier I am about this game means the longer the wait is going to be. I'm trying to find all the flaws I can so I don't purposefully put myself in a coma to make 11.11.11 come faster.

The crossbow was on a CGI trailer that came out about a year before release. They wanted to have it in the game but had to let it drop due to time, gameplay balance, and other restrictions. And of course, it was subsequently added in ACB and will be in ACR.

Not the best citation of an example, when comparing it to what we've seen of various pauldrons in Skyrim so far.....

EDIT: What's making you worry about the guilds? We have 3 major confirmed, 1 minor/secret confirmed, and I would guess about 3 more minor/secret.
