I will do quite a bit of reading. I like the "People of the..." series by, W. Michael Gear & Kathleen O'Neal Gear.

Currently, I am re-reading the Kent Family Chronicles by, John Jakes.

Historical fiction, fantasy, it is all good.

I have noticed something, however, the books I read do not require me so sign a EULA agreement, and there is no DRM.

And when there is no power, and the net is down, books by candlelight, with a sip of wine, are quite nice.

With respect to 11-11-11, like so many of you, I'm very much looking forward to creating my planned characters and adventuring in Skyrim.

I will eat my own head if you don't play Skyrim when it comes out

I don't want to drive you to cannibalism. (Is it still cannibalism if you eat yourself?) So I vow, right here, right now, on my sainted mother's grave, to make every conceivable effort to finish my Oblivion game before 11/11/11. ;)

Don't get RAGE, it is ridiculously lacking in story and is actually more boring playing it than it is fun.

I'm starting a new game of Oblivion. Who knows, Skyrim may just have to wait.

You're still going to play Oblivion when Skyrim is out? It's not THAT good of an RPG. Anyways I'll be playing BF3 til' Skyrim comes out.

I've been playing OB, but to be honest I'm not sure it's a good idea. I see the issues that OB has, and then I read here about how Bethesda fixed or removed the problem in Skyrim. What I'm realizing is just how different Skyrim will be as compared to prior TES games. Good or bad we just don't know yet. Here's hoping.

I just keep really busy with a NEW hobby! I cook something for dinner I've never cooked every 2 days.

Last night it was "Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf". Yum. Saturday it was Ham and Bean soup. (Even bigger Yum!). So far, I've made: Black Pepper Filet Mignon with Creamy Mushroom sauce, HOMEMADE New England Clam Chowder (creamy white kind, really effing good too), and Adobo chicken and rice. I plan on making more soups and stews, because they're awesome, and probably a few more chicken dishes, I'm definitely going to make beef welington, and anything else that would be fun to try. :celebration:

Funny thing is, before I started cooking late last month, I've never put much effort into it. I would do a basic beef stew, beef stroganoff, various sandwiches and Breakfast food! I've really expanded my culinary horizon, so if I turn into a famous chef someday, It'll all be because I wanted to keep myself distracted until Skyrim. My cookbook will acknowledge Bethesda, lol. :intergalactic:

If you're just looking for other games, I recommend Gears of War 3, NBA 2K12, and Arkham City. I can confirm that the first two are great, and I imagine the third will be, too.

What can we all do before skyrim comes out?
see friends, play sport, get with girls/guys, see old friends..... because when skyrim comes out we will all have no social life

On a serious note :P ... Its one month until skyrim... has anyone got an good rpg style games that i can play to pass the time?
...and i dont mean Oblivion/Morrrowind e.c.t im playing them anyway ;) I would play something new like bf3 beta but its so glitchy i
keep falling though puddles :( :L ...ive tried some games like castlevania but all i can think about is skyrim :L :L
Thannks :D

p.s. link below is my first oblivion lp, it would be amazing if you could tell me how to improve and stuff :)

1 MONTH.

How about something that is not an RPG, that way when Skyrim does hit you won't be in the middle of rpg-burnout. I'm playing through a season of F1:2011 at the moment as well as just horsing around in Saints Row 2.

Played through Dragon Age, playing modded Oblivion off and on, thoroughly enjoying Dirt 2. I bought the first Witcher but cannot for the life of me get into it at all; maybe it is the combat I dunno. Is Witcher 2 better than the first?
