What is Beth reaction on all the complain?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 10:51 pm

Yeah, they should totally ignore actual problems, that are valide, easy to fix and actually direct, like bugs, glitches, crashes, unintended effects...

Because things like "IT'S TOO SHIMPLE FOR MY TASTES" are easy to fix right?

There is this poll somewhere on the forum that asks people t vote if Skyrim is their all time favorite game top 3 top 10 or top 25... To my own surprise it's currently something like Top 3 followed closely by favorite game of all time... If anything the reactions have been maybe overhyped.

I'm pretty sure that we will see a fix to destruction and the broken smithing/enchanting/alchemy in an upcoming patch though, if they do that, it would be a testimony that they do check the forums.

Regarding the faction's quests being too short... Sadly, too bad for us : / UI being clunky? We'll see in the upcoming patch... In fact I believe the only answer we have to your topic is : we will see in the upcoming patch how closely they listened to our complains.

I think is is funny. The poll has a decent sized number too. I voted top 3. Also UI and Quests we're stuck with until maybe a month? Its been out 6 days barely seeing as its only 6 where i am in the morning right now. The Ui will be fixed and Cleaned by Modders and there will be about 8000 Ui's to pick from. Just like In World of Warcraft with the massive amount of Different Ui's. They had a good base and really only a tiny few things need to change and the Ui will be good. No matter how much you [censored] about the Ui it's much better than oblivions.

Quests will be the Same the ones beth made. Lots of quests will come out in a while made by people while im sure they are also working on 2 expansions for Skyrim. We could get a massive Modder quest download to have redone cyrdoiil in the future. Possibilities are endless. I for one thank Beth for allowing people to Mod the game as much as they want as they always have.

See alot of the complaints are pointless whining

But id sure love to hear some feedback concerning the major issues plaguing each platform.

The pc, well... lets face it biggest gripe tends to be the UI.. but youve got mods.. so its not that bad.. i mean, it will get better in the future even if beth do nothing.

The Xbox, the texture issue... yeah, we know, ugly. BUT! beth have said they are fixing it and there IS a way you can play the game (run off of disk)

PS3:... save game over 6MB? ok.. you cant play the game now.. Thats it.. want to experience something else? start a new character and hope you see it before your save hits 6-10MB. as after that... the game stops.

Theres some big issues on all three platforms and no one has addressed them directly (aside from the texture issue), instead a blanket response has been laid on it all saying "we are upgrading and patching"... patching what?

... I'd rather [censored] UI and texturing over the complete inability to play *sigh*

However, I will be patient. I'm familiar with coding and I understand this stuff takes time, it just svcks :3

This is an triple A title, so they should be releasing a patch within the next one or two weeks that will fix the current major problems (CTDs etc.)

Not that I think they will, but hey.

Many complaints are valid, in particular those associated with bugs. I agree on the interface dilema as well, I personally don't think its any good at all, in fact In many ways its very disruptive to imersion and actually impedes enjoyment of the game.

However I find that a lot of complaints about the games content, its mechanics and its general overall gameplay are just a lot of BS double talk and uncompromising comparisons to old outdated games who's design philosphy and approach have no bearing whatsover in todays gaming market. I mean I loved Morrowind... back when it was released. Most of the mechanics and the design mentality that went to it however is completetly outdated and I'm glad they abandoned some of these horribly outdated ideas about how RPG games should be. 2nd Edition D&D is 30 years old, we don't need classes, we don't need attributes and we sure as hell don't need to have "hard core" gameplay where gaming is more work than play.

Skyrim is an streamlined and thematic interactive novel. Its awsome. It needs a few bug fixes, but thats it. You want classes and a return to work instead of play, make a mod. We don't need Beth to do anything about that and thankfully they are on the side of wisdom and are very unlikely to change the games foundation.

I would say that they are paying attention to the legitimate complaints.

I've seen VERY few bugs/glitches in 30 hours of playing. The two I can remember are: textures turn black or purple and I have to reload again. Has happened twice. Also a horse and a guard were flying around the sky. Apart from that it's been flawless.

I'm playing pure mage and I feel destruction could do with a bit of an improvement, and there's hardly any good mage gear compared to warriors who get armour and weapons all over the place. Give the mages some attention or release the CK so modders can do it.

i wish the object manipulation was the same as fallout and nv. how come i can finly postion some thing in nv and it stays there, in skyrim if u place things just flat down, they can end up flying round the room when im gone. its very annoying. apart from that tho im happy. ive had 3 small bugs that i can live with, im one down on dragon souls, corundum ore and my bookshelves disappeared for an afternoon that is all.

Oh jeeze. My roommate, in all his bestheda games, loves to organize his house. He collects random items and spends hours stacking them, or just putting them in nice places. He's not gonna be too pleased about that one hahaha. I think about 50% of his gameplay goes towards things like that..

I've been really frustrated by a lot of what i've seen on these boards and it amazes me to hear that it was worse when Oblivion came out. I've gotten angry with a few posters and got a message from a moderator about it.

Anyway, I feel like a lot of the complaints fall into the 'baseless whining' category and sadly have overshadowed a lot of the more realistic concerns like CTD, texture issues and save issues.

I'm really confused by the whole 'missing content'/'they rushed the game' comments as I don't see the game the way they do so I'm not quite sure what people want out of that.

Anyway, spending too much time around here and reading too many posts actually makes me angry that people act the way they do. Oh well.

Some people like to adjust the junk and collect it , pity they reduced it a lot and many things are no more pickable and touchable , in some aspects it has the feeling of a "fable" game where you can't interact with stuff...

It's important not to pay too much attention to the incredibly vocal fringe that exists on internet forums. (It leads to crap like Broken Steel.)

Given some of the crazy rantings that this forum contained over the several months leading up to the release, I frequently felt a great deal of sympathy for the devs or community managers who had to wade through it all.

I would say that they are paying attention to the legitimate complaints.

Get out.

Get the [censored] out.

Obsidian ruins everything they touch, and their [censored] are the worst.

As for the complaining on Skyrim, some is legitimate, most is not. "OMG fix enchanting/smithing/alchemy!" Why? If you know it can be abused, don't abuse it and it'll never be an issue for you.

"Enemies all level scale" No, they don't. Some do, but at level 31 when I'm still fighting regular Bandits it proves you wrong.

on and on.

I think the current response is dead-on. The game's been out for a week.

Also, 90% of the complaints here aren't about bugs, they're about design choices that you didn't agree with. They won't be fixing that, because it isn't broken.

Rule of the industry #1:

As long as you keep buying our material, there's nothing wrong with it.

A rule that Bioware must've taken by heart. And now they're in the brink of... *sigh* whatever. Anyway, they still have ME3 as last resort.

As for Bethesda, I'm sure they're noticing to some extent. No need to take care of ALL the complaints, coz even I can tell most of them are... stup... *sigh* whatever. Peace.

All the complaining is pretty standard for a game release these days. If you sell two million copies then that's two million opinions on everything from the colour of the grass to the lack of function X to the min/max stat builders all wanting to have their opinions heard.

I'm sure they read through as much as they can, and the moderators should be highlighting areas of interest. Personally I don't think it's been that bad; but that's just my opinion.

Is beth paying attention to all the fans that are complaining about missing features , bugs and streamlining?

They are still counting their money they made from Skyrim, might have to give them some time. When they start developing their next game they might come read the forums.
