What if Bethesda stops patching after CK?

Okay i just might be getting paranoid, but what if Bethesda stops patching Skyrim after Creation Kit? Or atleast slows down the making of patches? Is that possible?

Yes, they like to let the modding community clean up their messes and console players be damned if there are glitches left... but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

What if I stop being a man?
What if I grew a pair of briast?
What if I throw a brick through a window and the glass doesn't break?
What if I snort cocoa butter?
What if I farted so loud that it caused dimensions to rub together, causing another big bang?
What if water didn't freeze at 32 degrees?
What if pigs flew?
What if cows produced bacon and pigs produced steak?

See? I can make ridiculous claims and statements too.

Yes, that's true. But what i was thinking that if Bethesda starts to concentrate more on the CK after its out?

Going by Beth's history.....very unlikely on them focusing on the CK.

The Construction Sets and GECKs were all unsupported apart from basic tutorials and the odd patch. No reason for them to change that.

Oblivion GOTY for consoles still had some glitches present from the beginning. The OP fears are more than legit. People posting cheap comments are clueless.

Thank you. I haven't played Oblivion on PS3 (PC only), but have Skyrim on PS3. I heard about glitches and bugs in Oblivion. But i'm pretty sure 4J Studios ported it to PS3, and it wasn't made by Bethesda? So i don't think they had anything to do with the patches in PS3 version, correct me if i'm wrong.

I do not see this happening until they get the vast majority of truly damaging or game breaking bugs dealt with. This whole fiasco is making a lot of people and some critics to lose faith in them. It is just not a good idea from a marketing point of view. If they did though I would walk from them and their future games. Even though I play their games on PC mostly and mods could fix any problems left unfixed just the fact that console gamers would suffer and be left out in the snow ( no pun intended) would just leave me the impression this is a company that like to bite the hands that feed them and I like I said would just walk. However I do not think this would happen it's just too unrealistic at this point.

Very minor ones. For example, infinite item glitch with bow and arrows did get patched. I can't recall any major bugs that were game breaking in the GotY edition of oblivion.

vampire cure quest for the PS3 you could not finish it I remember my brother actually jail breaking his PS3 then spending a couple of hours getting a fix mod to install and work so he could reverse his vampirism.

I think 4J Studios should have ported Skyrim to PS3 in the 1st place :D Seriously, i have faith, but i'm just worried that what if they will start concentrating on PC or something like that.

Well that's the only one and it wasn't even broken in a serious way. They option to give one of the ingredients never shwoed up, that was it. Sure, it did make a whole character unplayble if you hated being a vampire. Hmm, I sure hope they do fix stuff like this.

They aren't patching it even now.

The amount of fixes they are putting in is shameful and discourages from buying their games in the future before modders have at least a few months to redesign their horrible game.

Yes they are. The 1.3 Performance Patch is out, soon to be made available for consoles. The Data Patches are being worked on and will be out when they are ready. Thing to remember, is, most people do not have game breaking quest bugs. I have not had any. However, being an open ended game, things are being done in combos and sequences that Bethesda never imagined. This can cause some quests to glitch or not progress. So, they have to find a way to fix the exceptions without breaking what is working. That takes time.

As for the Editor. if a game patch comes out, or a DLC offers new scripting, then the editor is patched as needed. However, the editor does not really need patching like the game would.
