Well there would be an obligatory half assed "romance" scene. some tongue and cheek Humor, interesting dialoge between people, everyone and their grandmother would be your companion, there would be a whole lot of scenery and not much to look at or even walk to.........

now for a more optimistic view

Bethesda's open world mechanics

Biowares storytelling

bewm?

Then get ready, bub!

I don't see how Dragon Age, 1 or 2, had a better story than any Elder Scrolls game, except maybe Arena. Dragon Age 1 specifically was pretty straight-forward. Darkspawn invasion. Kill dragon. The end.
I can agree with character development, as I don't think I've seen any game develop characters as well as Dragon Age 1 and 2 have, but overall story? Nah. There are a lot of intricate details going on in the Elder Scrolls plots that people don't immediately appreciate. Even Oblivion gets under-credited for all the in-depth stuff it had going on because it wasn't as in-your-face as Morrowind.

I only played Mass Effect for a couple of hours and never played the second one, nor do I really remember many other BioWare games, so meh.

I think Witcher 2 blows them all out of the sky in terms of story and characterization. You just can't compare with these characters that feel so real, like you might know one of them in real life. I get a much more larger than life and Hollywood feeling from Bioware. Not to say they aren't good, but I prefer the former.

I would hate it to be honest because games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect feel like interactive movies to me more than a game if you want to follow the story. I like the continuous play with the story unfolding as you play instead of the forever long boring cutscenes and the dreadful conversations that seem to go on forever. I own both mentioned games and although I love the gameplay of Mass Effect I have never played it much because I dont know whats going on with the story because I get bored watching the interactive movie, same with Dragon Age, both games could be fun if they werent interactive movies. TES has it down perfect imo.

I would cry a river of blood just before the world imploded.

While I may not be the biggest fan of Bethesda's style of game design, I recognize and admire their lofty goals of creating such large game worlds. However, the characters that populate those worlds are, in my opinion, dull as dirt. Everything from physical appearance to personality, they all blend in with the crowd-even important characters (I understand that this is preferred among fans though). I prefer a more stylized approach to character design, which I think BioWare does best when it comes to Western RPGs.

If Bethesda created the world and perhaps certain gameplay aspects, leaving story, pacing and characters to BioWare, I'd probably be pretty excited.
