I'm not reading much at the moment because I have a few personal projects going on (including writing), but I'm halfway through "Brave New World" by Huxley (which is a work I'd recommend to anybody) and "We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin, which is also a fantastic read (albeit written with a little less clarity than Brave New World) - generally regarded as the precursor to "1984".

Rand's masterwork Atlas Shrugged

I finished this, but I hardly made it. As the work is more of a political agenda than a novel you'll probably struggle to enjoy it unless you agree with the "every man absolutely for himself" political philosophy.

Ive nearly finished looking Looking for Alaska. page 173 out of 215. John Green is such a brilliant author. A book has never made me cry before, but this one has.

It can be a bit taxing to read cover to cover (my paperback edition is in damn-near microscopic type and still runs about 1100 pages,) but, as you say, if you relate to the Objectivist theme, it's ultimately very rewarding.

Tommorow when the war began series-
I saw the movie and thought I'd read the (original) novels
It's about Australia being invaded by un-specified Asian country and it follows the adventures of a group of teenagers fighting for survival

Beyond the Shadows by Brent Weeks, it's the third (and last) book in The Night Angel trilogy.
And for school I'm reading lord of the flies.

Thats a GREAT triology! I'm nearing the end of The Way of Shadows. I already have the entire triology so there is no bother to rush out and buy the next book.

It's really quite an interesting book, but it does take a little while to get things really rolling into gear. Even 300 pages in, I still haven't gotten to the biggest premise of the book. However, that said, it's an incredibly detailed story, which some may find to their tastes and others not so much. Personally, I am enjoying it very much.

I once read it on recommendation from the book club teacher. I said I was interested in Sci-Fi but had never really read anything from the genre, so she handed me Atlas Shrugged as an "introduction" to it.

I'm currently reading Earth (The Book): A Visitor's Guide to the Human Race, by the Daily Show...er...people I guess. I mean the whole thing wasn't written by Jon Stewart alone. Anyways hilarious reading all the same.

He's still writing those? And I felt the series had past its expired date at Opal Deception.

Koontz is great, I love his stuff. the good guy is an awesome story, I won't ruin it for you by saying anything...

I know a lot of Kings books tie into the DT series(I have finished them), it's just I've read almost all of his books except pet sematary(was that how it was spelt? it wasn't cemetery,I think...), Carrie, and the first one with the vampires in it. oh, and bag of bones. and of course, the stand, which is why I wanted to read it before the DT series, but I got too into the DT. oh well, at least I understand a bit more about who Flagg actually is, then thinking he's like Satan or something....

yeah, I'm not much of a reader but those books really got my attention. It's kinda dark, it's got alot of killing, and it's fantasy without all the dragons and elves.

Once I'm finish with these books I'll be reading The Innocent Mage by Karen Miller

Though I'll admit, the latter two are much more sporadic - I don't mind that because they're non-fiction. I'll be done the first soon and will then need a new novel.

Just started Mort by Terry Pratchet, following several recommendations. I don't usually enjoy fantasy as a genre, but so far it's really interesting.

I'm currently reading The Difference Engine by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling. So far it's very interesting. It's definitely satisfying my love for the steampunk genre. :P

I began continuing to read Memoirs of a Geisha, so we'll see if I can continue. It's hard not to, even with fatigue factored in.
