What build are you currently playing?

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 1:14 pm

Well, after playing through the first 5 hours like 4 times now, I've settled on a male single handed sword and shield using Nord, however I think I'm gonna make a female destructive High Elf mage too, as I kinda miss being able to use magic too.

Female Breton, kind of a ranger/scout type. Sneak, archery, light armor, one handed/shield, but also building up skill in smithing atm.

Male Argonian Shield Mage.

Uses a shield(obviously), robes, destruction, conjuration, and on occasion; swords.

Really fun character to play so far. Plus I can dish it out with magic, and with melee(bound weapons).

I'm playing a male Nord Battle-Mage at the moment. Generally, I'll strategically lay down some runes then attack from afar with dual wield destruction spells. For close encounters, I have an axe/shield combo.

Focusing On: One-handed, Heavy armor, Smithing, Alchemy, Destruction, Restoration, Block

Dunmer, Male.

Specializing in Daggers, Bows, and Destruction magic, with Restoration, Alchemy, and Lockpicking, and Sneaking thrown in.

So you could say my major skills are: One Hand, Archery, Destruction, Restoration, Alchemy, Lockpick, and Sneak. 7 Skills, just like Oblivion. :P

Since he's on the side of good, I wouldn't call him an Assassin. Personally, I would go with Ranger.

Stealth Assassin/thief using Archery, Sneak, Illusion, One Handed, and Light Armour in order of importance.

Love it. However, sometimes I feel like I'm way too squishy fighting against mages, and usually have to use everything I've got to beat them, which is fair enough.

A whole mess of things. As a thief, I have low health. I was mostly using one sword and a destruction spell, occasionally rotating to bow, but I'm getting destroyed. Up close and personal + weak health + inability to block = insta-death by charging two handed warrior.

Female Breton, built like a freaking tank, and I love it thus far.

It's still very easy to die, but she also packs quite a punch. Melee is fun and exciting.

hehe I have the same problem... every MMO/RPG I play that has awesome charactr buildups I end up making tons of difrent characters to check out the early levels of gameplay with the difrent builds.

I have atm 3 characters, I used each one to go to difrent parts of the world (so that they could check difrent low lvl areas and quests) one is a lvl 12 bosmer archer - sneak - light armor - alchemy,;
the other is a lvl 17 nord heavy armor - block - one hand - smithing;
and what is my main is a altmer lvl 8 (I found that leveling caster is much slower than the others no doubt cuz of the low use of "spammy" skills like armors, weapons and the less acessible enchanting) destruction - restoration - alteration - enchanter

am currently pressing one with my nord warrior simply because combat is excrutiatingly hard and enveloping (I always play elder scrolls and all rpg's on max difficulty), am also noticing that this character is VERY weak at start but much stronger as he gains perks/gear/skill ups, enemies that 5 levels ago were one-two shotting me I am now tanking two of them with well placed shield blocks and bashes for example.
still have to check out more of the "sniper" caharcter after to check out what I so far see is a great AI improvement from other TES in matters of sneaking and assassination.
my main is caster aswell, but I ust need to check out the other stuff first and learn, one thing I know very important from playing then ord, is ice will be my main spells on the hotbinds lol... power attacks are nasty... specially without a shield and its perks.

LOVING my build. I am playing a Nord who specializes as a craftsmen. Blacksmithing is easily one of the most enjoyable aspects of the game. Currently level 20 with about that many hours in the game.

Dual-wield Swords, Heavy Armor, Enchanting and Blacksmithing - its pure gaming bliss. The combination of dungeon crawling, questing, exploring, crafting and bartering is balanced exquisitely.

Female Nord, uses a magical Orcish Greatsword and magical Ancient Nordic Bow. Two Handed Weapon, Archery and Heavy Armour specialist with a small sideline in Blacksmithing. Will probably end up being a master at restoration magic though considering all the healing I have to do :o

I did five major skills and five minor skills just like previous Elder Scrolls games, because that's what I'm used to. ^_^

Basically, I'm a Khajit Thief-Mage.

Major: One-Handed, Light Armor, Illusion, Destruction, Restoration

Minor: Sneak, Lockpicking, Pickpocket, Speech, Alteration.

Using the Mage power stone. Loving the build so far, and I expect it will have a lot of options for killing things down the road.

I'm an imperial and so far I've just been using one handed and destruction. With a little bit of marksman and restoration thrown in every now and then.

Bosmer, pure Thief
I have not used magic once. I have used dual daggers for defense when needed.
Just now starting some of the quests for the Thieves Guild.

Having a great time with it.

A single handed Nord. For the first time I'm not enjoying my traditional hide behind and shield and poke slash the enemy to death tactic. I'd restart, but I've put about 15 hours into the character so I think it would be best to just attempt to rush through the main story and then make a character I'd enjoy.

I just created my Oblivion character.
A Bosmer with Archery, Pickpocketing, Sneak, Lockpicking, Illusion and Alteration.
It's really fun, I have my rouge'esque abilities and I have some magic as a dessert.
Not gonna create a new character until I'm completely done with this current one.

Breton: light armor, conjuration, restauration, one-handed, sneak, bow, speechcraft, lockpick.

Just going with the flow, will probably become a nightblade kind of character where Alchemy and illusion will become more important; but it's good to have set of 'plan-b' skills around 30-40 (like restauration and conjuration) in case something goes wrong.

As I have the strategy guide, what I've found myself doing, is completing all the side quests in the starting cities, before moving on to the story quest, I'm yet to kill my first dragon on this character, however I'm allowed further on in the levels than I was on my previous characters, who had killed their first dragon a good amount of time before. Since getting the game, I've seen myself lying in bed for hours after turning off the xbox, just reading through the strategy guide. xD

Excuse the off topic post, did not want to create an entirely new thread.

I am a bit of a newb here so please excuse me idiotic questions.

Are there any ways to reset the points you have put into the different "Skill trees" or will I have to wait for a mod to come out that enables it.

Owning face as my ranger Argonian. I one shot bandits w/o sneak with my Orcish bow (got it when I was level 7 or something) ;). So far the only thing that was too powerful for me was dragon cultists. Everything else, even sabre cats die by my poisoned arrows or get finished off by my enchanted blades.

Major: Archery, Light Armor, One-handed, Sneak
Minor: Alchemy, Lockpick, Pickpocket

I'd say I'm 3/5 thief 2/5 Warrior overall
