What button is the smart button?

Post » Thu Aug 12, 2010 9:05 pm

The devs say they want it to be smooth, so I'd guess a shoulder button or R3/L3. What do you think?

Well, I think it's gonna be the Left Bumper. I dunno what that is on the PS3, but... HEY! There's the Compendium! I have two ideas!

1.Check the Compendium. If not there, then look at 2. If there, YAY!
2.Wait until it comes out.

Left Alt seems the obvious choice for PC.

Or perhaps also, if you press space to jump and hold that down, it enables SMART functionality. Would handle any issues where you'd like to use the jump key in the middle of a series of SMART actions.

i think it might be a two button hold, somthing like assassins creed. hold a button for sprit and hold another button(mabey the jump button) with the sprint button to use smart, then let go of the jump button to stop using smart and stop pressing everything all together to stop moving/let go

No, the smart button is the sprint button. If you just want to sprint without SMART activating, you can tap the button and it will toggle sprint. I imagine when you stop moving, sprint turns back off, like in Borderlands if you have played that.

But anyway, the smart button will be the same button as sprint is in other games, on all 3 consoles.

Also SMART is on the Left bumper (No thinking it's fact lol) for the Xbox 360. But I'm sure It's changeable if you wanted.

I just assumed L2 for the PS3, LT for the Xbox, and possibly Shift, E or Q for the PC. But Q would be switch weapon, so...

I hope it's not sprint for other FPS. I don't want to click the joystick everytime.

It was LB in the expo-XBox-demo.
Considering the PS3 usually switches Trigger and Bumper, it would be the LT for the PS3.
And most likely SHIFT for the PC.

I think its going to be the jump button
Xbox: A
PS3: X
PC: Space.....i think
because if you watch the video when the player is showing all the stff u can do he jumps off and slides, so that seems smooth

No, SMART is sprint. But jumping is in as well (A, X, Space). And so is crouch (B, O, C/Ctrl?)

LT for the PS3 would be ridiculously uncomfortable.

You mean L2?
Let me get it, LT=L2 and LB=L1?

LT = Left Trigger
LB = Left Bumper/Button

On XBox, you usually shoot with RT, the right trigger (which totally makes sense, imo).
On PS, you usually shoot with RB, the right bumper/button (which is kinda odd).

On PS3 You move with L3, look with R3. (The bumpers)
You shoot with R1, ADS with L1.

Wow, I own a PS and it's hard to remember the set-up without actually seeing the controller. (When you play it all goes automatically xD)

Obvious? The alt key is on the very bottom, that wouldn't make a good key for smooth manual smart actions, E, F, or Q would be better, even shift.

Depends on your entire control setup.

When you have your middle three fingers on WAD, and your thumb on space, your pinky naturally rests right around the Alt/shift key.

That's how I play. Mouse2 for sprint and in Brink for SMART.

Isn't Mouse 2 the right mouse button? :confused: ? that is the worst "confused" smiley ever

I could imagine Mouse 4 or 5 (the ones on the side) for sprint/SMART, rather.
