Edit: Oops set the title to Fallout 3 ultimate by accident, my bad and yes im aware its GOTY not ultimate for Fallout 3.
Title pretty much sums it up, hope this is the right section. Recently started playing New Vegas again and really enjoying it. I'm now looking into expanding a bit but i was wondering what people thing would be a better option. Buying Fallout 3 GOTY for £6 on Amazon or buying the DLC for New Vegas, probably just the story ones. So two questions:
1. Which would be a better option in your opinion, Fallout 3 GOTY or Vegas story DLCs
2. Is it worth simply buying New Vegas ultimate to get all the DLCs including the minor ones or is there any DLC that is significantly worse to warrant not buying it thus making steam cheaper.
Having quickly read through the forums i realised there were a few big difference between the 2 games so i'll list what i enjoyed from New Vegas to hopefully aid the decision.
- Story - Huge fan of the story in vegas, especially shaping it the way you wanted to, love the amount of options we have available.
- Exploration - Like the concept but i didnt find it worthwhile in Vegas, not enough rewards for it and i find travelling about far too slow, i installed a hoverboard mod for this reason. I hear this is better in Fallout 3 so let me know.
- Modding - I am ofcourse aware of the fairly huge modding scene for both games and the ports of Fallout 3 mods to New Vegas etc so i doubt this will be an issue.
Cant currently afford both but if i have enough disposable money later i will certainly buy both. Anything i missed from this post that you feel i should add such as more likes about New Vegas etc just ask and i will add it. Thank you all for your time.
