What camera will you play at Skyrim?

Who wouldn't want to fight a dragon in first person?

I'll travel in third person though, mainly because I like to look at my smexy armored self...and so I can see anything trying to sneak up on me. Mainly for the first reason though.

I swap all the time. I just press the button out of habit and to give me something to do while travelling places!

In Morrowind and Oblivion, I generally actually play in first person, but sometimes shift into third person to admire my character or armor or for taking screenshots, in part, this may have been because the third person in those games wasn't very well designed, still, even though it may be viable to play in third person in Skyrim, I still expect to stick mostly to first person, as I still think of the Elder Scrolls as primarily a first person game, just one in which you have the option to switch to third person if you feel like it. I'm absolutely fine with third person games, lots of games I love are third person, in fact, most good RPGs I've played have either a third person over the shoulder camera or an isometric one (The Elder Scrolls, of course, being an exception.) but maybe that's why I prefer to play the Elder Scrolls in first person, because it's different from what I get in other RPGs, still, I wouldn't want the third person option to be taken away.

I play in third all the time. I like to think of my character as more than just a pair of arms. I also think it is a much of pleasing and dramatic view of the game world.

In OB this required a couple of mods to pull off well, a third person view mod, animation mods, etc. I was able to get something quite pleasing in the end, but I'm hoping Skyrim does a much better job out of the box of making the third person experience more enjoyable.

I forgot to mention...I sometimes switch to third person to see if I have clothes on. I hate it when I forget to get dressed before I go out - and no one ever tells you you're not dressed!!! :D

They said that the timing in the weapon animations are different when you switch between 1st and 3rd person.

3rd person melee, first person missile. I like to travel in 3rd person as it gives a better view of the surroundings.

I switch according to my mood. First person view gets boring if you use it all the time, so does 3rd person. So I tend to switch over to the other one, quite often depends on what I am doing, actually.

I play third person and first person fairly equally, but I lean more toward third because I like seeing my character... :)

This is exactly what I do.

1st person view about 99% of the time. There are occasions where it's helpful to be able to switch viewpoints (briefly) and see what's hitting "me" from some odd angle, like a Rat that attacks from behind or a Cliffracer overhead and to one side. There are still rarer occasions where I want to see how a piece of armor matches the rest of what the character's wearing.

I'll be honest with you. The idea of discussing this is cool, but it's really hard to actually know the answer until the game comes out. None of us has any idea how the new 3d person camera is going to work.

Doesn't matter how they tweak 3rd person. Unless they ruin 1st person somehow I am not switching out of it while in combat. If I am just out for a stroll I don't mind 3rd person.

I play 3rd Person whenever practical; but I'll switch to 1st person to get around game flaws and limitations.

I always use 1st person, it's always been what I loved about ES. I only use 3rd and camera mode for aesthetic/vanity value once in a while

I will play in first person almost almost all of the time because that is how the game is being designed primarily, and judging by the previous games that is how i think it will play best. I believe it is more immersive also. In fact the first person experience is what i love so much about TES and what i dislike about ME (shame because could have been amazing, still a great game IMO) and Fable (period).

Although more attention is being paid to 3rd person this time around in comparison to Oblivion, it is still designed around first person, and that is what i will be playing in.
