The amount of time I spend in third person will depend entirely on how the armour looks, I hate how normally the best armour looks ridiculous ( hello amber glass deadric, T51-b )
On oblivion I tend to use third person most of the time while travelling during lower levels but will always switch to first person in combat. Once I reach the eyesore of glass/deadric its 1st person all the way.

I totally switch around according to my mood or depending on what works best for gameplay. In oblivion I did most of my melee combat in third person., especially during times they made us team up or we were supposed to be fighting with a faction or something. If I didn't I always ended up clobbering my guys because they'd always be just jumping in front of me. Poor a.i. I really hated when I'd be getting a big battle down to the last legs and something would go wrong and the side I'm on all of a sudden turns on me because I accidentally killed one of their guys. Really svcked.

I like both. For Elder Scrolls, I usually play in first-person only because the way third-person has historically been handled was just very poor. If Skyrim has good third-person, I'll give it a try and see for sure which I prefer. I don't know of very many games that actually give you that sort of choice and still have both perspectives handled well, but I never mind it when I play primarily first or third-person games.

1st, except when taking screenshots or staring at the nifty armor I've looted/bought/downloaded.

I'm always in first person when playing. I only switch to third person to check out my character and take screen shots.

I switch it all the time (in Oblivion). Sometimes I like to see my character, sometimes I like to see from 1st person.

First person all the way. IMO the point is to be my character, not follow him like a chase-cam in a Uwe Boll movie.

I chose 1st person in combat, 3rd person while traveling. But the way I travel depends on my mood.

Exactly! More immersion in 1st person.

Mostly 3rd person accept when aiming a bow or spell, I like to be able to see my characters reactions and what they are doing rather than seeing simply what weapon I'm currently holding up.

Did they say it's easier to do some things in 3rd person and harder to do others...

First person for me. Games which force you to use a third-person view don't feel like real games to me (especially if they're shooters.)

If the aiming is good in 3rd person, I'll only play in third person :P

Horse riding was better in 3rd person (hopfuly bethesda fixed that in skyrim). But other than that, 1st person all the way.

I voted "1st person in combat, 3rd person while travelling".....although I would only sometimes use 3rd person. In Oblivion I'll switch to 3rd person sometimes if I'm travelling through the wilderness, because you can see approaching creatures better....and 3rd person sometimes for screen shots or to glance at my character to make sure the armor fit...heh heh.

I can't any stand 3rd person isometric view games like Neverwinter Nights and others.
1st person view is what attracted me to Bethesda games, and I don't play any other games besides (Daggerfall lately), Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3, and greatly looking forward to Skyrim, of course.

Yes 3rd person very occasionally, but 1st person 99% of the time. Bethesda rocks like that...giving the player the choice.

some say that 1st person camera is more immersive while others love seeing their character interact with the world in 3rd pseron camera.
in oblivion the horrible animations and inability to aim ranged attacks prevented a lot of ppl from considering this option seriously while only a handful of mods improvd the situation a bit.
Let's assume the 3rd person perspective in skyrim will be good and useful, meaning that aiming a spell or archery is going to be effective just like in any 3rd person shooter and the animations will look cool

if this case is correct, how will you play Skyrim? in first or third person camera? and why?

I made a mod for myself which makes the camera 1st person whenever my char draws a weapon, and 3rd person any other time.
Pretty much says it.
