Rogue argonian, imah start working on him in the coming days, I'll start with an Argonian in Arena and follow his bloodline through Daggerfall, Morrowind and finally Oblivion.

I am going to be a Mage. I'll probably create my own custom Mage class, though. After I'm done one playthrough, I'll go back again as a Rogue. :)

As per tradition I always start with a briton battlemage with a mix of destruction and melee combat, the build has served me well over the years.

For my first playthrough, or first couple playthrough I will be something similar to a Warrior, then once i get familiar with the game i might go rogue if it feels right.

Neither. I play a battlemage character most of the time, half magic, half combat, and always maxed sneak skill for those nice criticals.

nice ratio :disco:

And with a sample size of 90+ no less.

I like mages personally. I love the versatility.

Rogue. Pure thief actually.
I am curious as to how the skill (perk) trees will be for specialization, and wonder how far I might get on a "thief" type of tree, if there is such a thing.

Haha, looks like a pretty even spread of character types for Skyrim. I guess that means Bethesda is doing a good job of making them all sound appealing.

I'm personally going with an Breton Assassin type character with a niche for certain forms of magic.

1st TES playthrough- warrior, loved it

2nd TES playthrough-stealth, loved it

3rd and every other TES playthrough-mage, mages make the game playable longer for me, and it's nice being able to use magic for stealth and damage.

hurray for enchant!

Interesting that no-one is a Mage. IIRC they were all the rage in Morrowind.

*Edit - typical that someone votes Mage as I'm typing the post :)

Mage might be bad for the first character, mages are typically harder to play as they require lots of knowledge of the magic system, however then done right they are very powerful.

Mage, just because with this one mod I got for OB (that makes you fight the same enemies at any level and the enemies always stay at a predetermined level) I just can't get past the battle of Kvatch with anything other than a mage spamming electric touch

An Argonian Rogue (w/e class) with a touch of magic. Like Illusion of something. Not the Archer type either. I mean dagger rogue.

When I was watching the gameplay video and I saw the guy actually assassinate the guy I said, "Well guess I'm going rogue!"

What do we vote for if we're crossovers?
Warrior/Rogue. I can't choose, I have equal amounts of skills! Blade, Athletics, Armorer, Alchemy, Marksman, Sneak, Speechcraft.
What do I do?! Haha.

Edit: I realize that Skyrim won't have "Classes" to choose or select.
I guess I'd pick Rogue with some guts. Haha, or a warrior with some "sneaky-sneaky". Ugh.

I'm going to start off as a ____ and shield warrior ( with some bow skills too) and then do my mage and sneaky sneaky archer characters. It worked out pretty well in Oblivion. I actually kind of liked the way my rogue turned out. He started off as an evil ruthless killer, but became a reformed hero at Kvatch.

I guess my play style is closest to rogue, and they're usually what I pick if those are only three choices. Can fight somewhat like warrior class, with more options. Most versatile out of the three I think.

since MW my first character is a Dunmer 'assassin-ish' type character; having Blade, Alchemy, Mysticism( ), Acrobatics, Light Armor, Marksman, Sneak, and Illusion as a Minor that becomes a Major skill, but w/o Mysticism who knows

A Warrior.

I see no need for nancy-pants shenanigans like crawling around in the mud or fannying about with fireballs and icebolts.

When I see something I don't like, I walk up to it and hit it in the face. If it's not dead, I hit it some more.

Nordic Warrior called Odin.
Mainly bashing skulls with blunt weapons, but later invest in a few points to the arcane arts.
Plus there's the Dragon Shouts.

I don't know if I fall into one of the categories. My characters typically are hand to hand combatants with magical abilities who are more than fine with stealing from people, even jumping them. I like to think of them as some kind of failed martial artist. A martial artist turned what he would deem a "survivor and opportunist".

I'll be a warrior, that's how I start all my RPGs, except for my restart of Oblivion in which I played as a mage after my first Xbox 360 died.

Just interested in general terms. A lot of posts I see seem very geared towards stealthy archer types. And a lot of screenshots I've seen people post from Oblivion are very much of the "emo" assassin vampire/devil/angel with "issues". I'm really curious to see if there is an even spread across each of the major class types, or whether it's 90% assassin stuff and 5% on each of the others.

Breton battle-mage. Love to smash faces in with maces, but the new frost magic sounds so epic. Maybe a little conjuration thrown in there as well.

Well so far the three choices seem to be spread out almost evenly, surprisingly enough.
