Just interested in general terms. A lot of posts I see seem very geared towards stealthy archer types. And a lot of screenshots I've seen people post from Oblivion are very much of the "emo" assassin vampire/devil/angel with "issues". I'm really curious to see if there is an even spread across each of the major class types, or whether it's 90% assassin stuff and 5% on each of the others.
I voted rogue, but that is in a more broad sense. What I actually use with him (if it is a custom class) is subject to the skills which they implement.

Assassin, sorry. Had too much fun with stealth and backstabbing. Although for the record, I'm more of a Morag Tong, business like, blends in the crowd character. Hated as much the cheesiness of the DB as I found their missions entertaining.
Yeah I dont begrudge anyone their choice really They're all good. For most of Morrowind, I created outright Thieves. No real skill at combat, just excellent and sneaking and stealing.
In Oblivion, probably an even mix between all three of the types I think. I always change my mind as to which I prefer.
Rogue for sure! Daggers, lockpicks, bows, crossbows, poisons, clothing and light armor is the thing for me. Once I become sufficiently powerful (high level, good equipment) I'll start to dabble into magic!
I've already got my first character kinda' mapped out. I think with the game being Skyrim and all it'd be best to have a Warrior; and a Nord one at that. ^_^
That's what I loved about Oblivion. It doesn't confide you to one skillset or one playstyle just because of the class you picked like some other games annoyingly do.
You can pretty much shape a character to do anything and everything you want!

I know that was great, although my previous magic assassin warrior was a little overpowerered so I might choose something else :celebration:
I might be a Nord Warrior with some Destruction and Restoration magic if I'm a "Hero of the People" type.
Or I might be a sneaky Imperial character with some melee and light armour skills to help out in a straight up fight if I get to be an agent of the (new) Empire or some other rising political faction.
I doubt I'll be a pure mage in my first playthrough though.
Edit: One thing is sure, my first character is going to be human.
Double edit: I voted Warrior because both of my character ideas involve being skilled at melee combat.
I'm undecided yet. Usually in TES games I play a couple of pure mages before trying anything else, but given how it's set in Skyrim playing a raging Nordic berserker seems good too. Voted for mage to assist the underdogs in the poll.
I'll be going for the mage. I always like to go against the flow of the majority of the game's characters (which will inevitably be warriors in Skyrim) so I'll be casting spells from far away to get my kills. I had some trouble in Cyrodiil due to the fact that there are many of every class so I ended up playing a merchant...
Warrior, it's the class I play initially in all my fantasy type games. Something about heavy armor and a shield and sword that I find too awesome to pass up.
