Smells like copyright infringement.

Besides... the product won't sell as well as you'd think...

Who the crap is going to buy something with the words "nuka" in it. A freaking atom. And advertised to be partially irradiated. To sell to customers. Other than a candy store, or a comic store.

Bluntly coke should do nothing. They don't own any rights to the name nor product that is nuka cola and frankly given that in reality most people out in the real world probably don't even know there's a game called fallout they would probably charge Bethesda more than it's worth, especially given that the game releases around thanksgiving/ Christmass as is.

Meh, idk. Its a good idea in theory (I suppose) but this isnt Destiny. Beth doesn't need to attach its IP to a can of poison to increase interest or sales.

Hah, a can of poison. You can drink a can of coke a day and live a healthy life. It's people who drink a lot of it all the time and doesn't excercize who become fat and [censored], and that can be applied to almost everything.

I seem to recall some Cola company "changing" some stuff back in the 80s.....did NOT work out well.

Yes, there is some potential for a Marketing gimmick here, but I would guess a smaller cola company would be a better served attempting something like a tie in (less to loose, more to gain).

Also, associating your product with the term "Nuke" might not be in the best interest of your long term Marketing goals....especially in this age of PC, social-media, media-hype, exploitation and exaggeration.

Maybe great for the fans but I don′t think the Fallout franchise is big enough to warrant this. I′d still buy, though :D

This has been suggested so many times over the years. Mountain Dew had its thing with Halo 3 and gamer fuel but Coke would never go for it unfortunately. They try to brand themselves differently and by even having a line targeting this video game culture the higher ups at Coke would say that it would not help their brand image at all towards a family style American brand. It works for Mountain Dew because they are edgy and Mountain Dew and Doritos are what gamers thrive off of.

But I still want to see this happen. Theres a lot of petitions for it, sign it and who knows. Probably won't happen, but we can always hope

They did, but I′m not sure the Cola company was involved other than giving permission, and the bottles were never sold in stores.

I agree, but my point is Beth doesn't need to employ a cheap marketing ploy like this to push their product, people already want it and have for years. But thanks for stating the obvious.

Maybe McDonalds can have some souvenir cups and some little vault boys in their happy meals.

There was a thread earlier about this. It wouldn't surprise me at all for Bethesda to get CC to make some special bottles, or at least someone else. I know there are some smaller companies out there that make stuff like this that would love the opportunity to do it.

Well considering that Nuka Cola is a parody of Coke and a dig at how unhealthy it is, it might not be the best strategy...

Well, Coca Cola's original formula did use a certain chem, after all. :D

Ummm... soft drink companies offer a wide variety of different colors, flavors, etc in order to attempt to attract new customers and increase market share while competing with other companies. Coca Cola is no different and has had (and currently has) a variety of flavors, colors, etc to achieve this exact outcome. There are varying levels of success or failure, many times regardless of popular perception or individual preference. Assuming that something will or will not sell is not good business. Of course, marketing research is often inherently biased which is why some variations fail (and others succeed beyond the original projections).

Bethesda has probably discussed this with Coca Cola at some point. It may happen, too. After all, Todd has pushed console makers to allow mods for over a decade and now is finally getting approval, at least from Microsoft.

Basically, if there's a possibility of profit, businesses take notice and will at least discuss such possibilities. They may not reach an agreement, but the discussion is likely to happen, at least.

Frankly, I drink Mountain Dew and have for decades so I don't care too much what Coke does. :D

Sprite has a Lebron mix. I know it likely wouldn't happen but not entirely out fo the realm of possibility either.
