I am hoping somebody can tell me what that giant tear in the fabric of Oblivion is supposed to be colored? It seems to be yellow, but I read somewhere that it is supposed to be red. Does anyone know what what would be the lore-correct coloration? I searched the Imperial Library, the UESPWiki, and the Official Forum but couldn't find it anywhere. Thank you in advance for any response.

Where did you read it was supposed to be red? That little bit of texts must have slipped past me...

Anyway, I'd assume that the color it is in-game (bright yellow/white) is the correct color. It is raw magick and should be the same color as all the other stars (which I guess could actually put it anywhere from light red to light blue), still, I don't really think there's any reason to go against what's in-game on this...

I think you may have confused Magnus with Masser, Tamriel's larger moon, in the Cosmology section at TIL, which is the source of your confusion. Masser is the big red moon; Magnus is the sun-colored tear in Oblivion, which looks like our sun, smells like our sun, feels like our sun, etc, etc.

But, as you know, it isn't.

It's all colors.
