What compensation is Crytek planning for LE owners?

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:51 am

To whom it may concern:

We, the people who pre-ordered the game, got royally shafted; no doubt about it.

I have ALL of the problems listed in these forums, first I could not sign in, then when it did, did not hold my key or accepted my pre-paid code.

The whole point of pre-ordering was, in multiplayer to be ahead of the people who did not pre-order. At this point, I must be WAY behind people who got the game after release (assuming their copies work properly). So, where does this leave us limited edition owners? Crytek owns us our money's worth, that's where.

I am looking forward to hearing something official about how they will be compensating us. Because, at this point, just fixing the game will not be enough, since that was not what we pre-paid for.

Don't get me wrong, I hold no grudge against Crytek, I know that *hit happens despite all good intentions and hard work. I am sure that they worked hard, and they must be VERY upset, I bet more than we customers are, since this is how they MAKE their money. But business is business, and my money is still the money I spent under certain conditions, which could not be granted for one reason or another. It is my right to demand my money's worth; and I do.

Regards,

GT

I dunno about your situation, but where I bought my copy of the game bot the limited edition and the normal edition were the same price. what are you whining about, you got some stuff for free.

Yeah, it didn't cost extra. The point of pre-ordering is to have a copy on hold, I usually always pre-order day one purchases. LE code did net us an exclusive dogtag or something though, didn't it? If it's any consolation, during beta I hit level 5 within an hour or two playtime. It's not really that much of an advantage lost.

Compensation would be rather pointless, I would just like to see the bonus perks delivered as advertised, even if late. Really, I just want the Scar camo and the platinum dogtag... the other perks I could care less about.

Really? Are you kidding me? It was FREE. If you really think Crytec is going to shell out THOUSANDS of dollars for something that was free and very insignificant, there must be something wrong in your head. I entered the code on the wrong account, and i just shrugged it off and moved on with life. If you want compensation, the single player campaign was pretty epic. There you go.

When people say things like this, it's a wonder Cryteck hasn't given up on the PC community yet.

Yeah I totally forgot about that. Guess that would be a little extra time shaved off, but still not enough to freak out about. The camo SCAR skin and plat dogtag is why the LE was a worthwhile bonus.

I think we should get something. No biggie but maybe all those that have an LE code should in the future get some kind of cool weapon skin, something even more unique than a digital camouflage. Nothing that big. It wouldn't take them that much time to whip up something like that.

I did not say I want money, I said my money's worth, i.e., something that people who did not pre-pay will not get.

Here's my suggestion:
Digital copies of the materials you gave with the nano edition (making of Crysis 2 videos, and PDF of the art-book) would be nice! It'd not cost Crytek anything, and it'd be a nice gesture as an apology for the people like me who put their trust in them and purchased a product before it was released (and got seriously disappointed). I almost never pre-order games; I guess looking at Crysis 2 release, it should be obvious why. This time, I made an exception, and look what happened. Now, if I get something more substantial than a useless gun-camo for my troubles, it'd be worth pre-ordering it, and going through all the trouble associated with it. This should be relatively simple to do, since we'll already have a LE code in our accounts. Just provide unique URLs to the videos and the art-book to the people with LE accounts.

Any LE owners here who would oppose to my suggestion?

Normally I would agree with you if you had to spend more money or something to get the limited edition, however you did not. The cost of the LE and normal is the same cost, you are getting **** for free whether or not its on day 1 or a week later, that's free **** that we have to work for and unlock.

Free or not is not the argument, the argument is that we trusted the company with money before even seeing reviews and such. LE and pre-ordering exist for a reason.

Crytek should be **** embarrassed, but I'm not sure they owe us anything but an apology.
