Gotta get them custom made, Saves money & gives you better parts
Good luck with custom made laptops. I don't think we're there quite yet
I'm getting Skyrim for Steam. If Bethesda's jumping on Valve's bandwagon, then I could just end up playing it for PS3 as a result, but I have my nice desktop here. Overpriced piece of crap, but it runs games well enough. Plus you can't beat mods.
My specs are:
Alienware Aurora R2
Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 Bit
A single ATI Radeon HD 5670. I'd like to upgrade to an Nvidia GTX 590 whenever that comes out, but to do that I'll have to upgrade my power supply.
Dual-core Intel Core i5 @ 3.2 GHz. Looking to go up to quad core. Apparently I can't get i7 or something.
6 GB of RAM. I'm looking to push that up to 8.
Some proprietary Alienware motherboard.
A weak power supply. Also proprietary and bothersome to upgrade. Would probably require a complete rewiring of the system, and it needs to fit with the chassis.
A 500GB hard drive that really doesn't matter. Though it is my lowest score on the Windows Experience Index.
A second 1TB hard drive that I use to store media.
Liquid cooling
And then I just have an installation of Linux on my primary hard drive that I like to boot off of every once in a while. Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal.
I can max out graphics on Crysis 2 and average about 30 frames a second, 15 during particularly strenuous loads. Not perfect, but it'll get me by.
And knowing my family, there will be a version for the 360 floating around somewhere. I might get my hands on that if I find the PC version unfulfilling for whatever reason
