What could this be?

In the center you obviously see all of the magic skills. On the far right you see "smit" which its safe to assume will be "smithing".But on the far left you see "AFT" that is the last 3 letters of a skill. We know speechcraft will not be in the game. So what could be that ends in "AFT". could it be "spellcraft" perhaps?

I don't remember anything about speechcraft not being in. Where is that from? It seems like the right place for it (next to alchemy, so it'd have to be a stealth skill).

I don't know a few weeks ago somebody posted that they heard speech-craft will not return.

Yeah I thought of that too... spellcraft, perhaps. But I thought they were thinking of removing spell-craft, due to it risk over-powering things.

Or it could be an older skill that has been re-named, like it's now called archery instead of marksman, if I remember correctly.

I'm guessing it's not magic-related, since they've got 18 skills, most likely divided into 6 magic, stealth, and combat. There's 6 magic skills grouped together on the screen with the mage nebula behind them, smithing on the right (probably combat), and alchemy on the left (confirmed to be stealth).

Yeah. It's most likely something stealth-related for that reason.
I'm guessing something that has been renamed. After all, I think it was stated the stealthy parts weren't that much overhauled than before. So probably not a new skill. More likely a renamed previous one.

Never heard any official info that speechcraft would be out. More like speculation that it will be merged with Mercentile, with perks for both. The new mixed skill would be called by the old name of "Speechcraft", though it wouldn't exactly be the same as before.

Could be Speechcraft. Might be more useful in Skyrim, could improve your dragon shouts or allow you to use special Speechcraft shouts.

Probably doesn't help in this case, but there's a much bigger version of the same image http://cms.elderscrolls.com/sites/default/files/tes/screenshots/SkillsMenu_wLegal.jpg.

I'd assume it's something-craft.

Seeing as it is near Alcehmy, I think it is a Stealth Class Skill.
Speechcraft most probably.Never heard about it being removed... maybe merged with Mercantile but not removed.

I can't find where now but I believe it was said that they were merging Mercantile and Speechcraft in which case it could still be called Speechcraft and mercantile will be affected by one's speechcraft. I'll try to look around and fine it.

You mean spellmaking? I believe the reason they did not have it in, at least at the time the statement was made, was because they wanted to reduce the "spreadsheet" feel of magic, and in any case, in past games it was never a skill, and if Bethesda decided to make it a skill, it would logically be a magic skill, and judging from its position, the skill in question must be a stealth skill, since all the magic skills are clearly in view, and alchemy, which we've been told is now a stealth skill is between it and illusion.

In any case, I'm assuming it's speechcraft, I'm not seeing any official basis for the claim that speechcraft has been removed so I'm assuming that's not the case, though I wouldn't be surprised if speechcraft got merged with mercantile, the new skill could still be called speechcraft, but would cover the former functions of both skills, and could potentially have perks to allow players to focus on the persuasion or trading side of it. I can't see what other skill it could be, since it must be a stealth skill and I'd assume the "aft" is "-craft", and the only stealth skill from past games I can think of that ended in craft was speechcraft. Either that, or it's a new or renamed skill, but I'm not sure what that could be.

I can't find any official links either. But I could have sworn I remember somebody saying speechcraft was out or merged with other stealth skills.

But just because two skills are merged doesn't mean that it can't be speechcraft. I would say they just got rid of mercantile and through all that stuff into Speechcraft. Still merged, but the other way.

Probably Speechcraft merged with Mercantile. After all, you have to impress the locals with your tremendous singing voice as well as fool honest merchants in giving you stuff for free :)

Yeah I remember that too, I think...

Anyway, now that I think of it. It's probably just speechcraft as everybody says. Makes no sense if all communication skills were removed so... yeah.

there was a interview, Todd stated that they won't be having a speech-craft because it wouldn't work with the new way you interact with people. People won't like if you treat them badly like stealing or punching them but will like you if you help them with stuff

So it is confirmed that it will not be in at all?
If so what do your predict the skill is?
