Yeah I thought of that too... spellcraft, perhaps. But I thought they were thinking of removing spell-craft, due to it risk over-powering things.
You mean spellmaking? I believe the reason they did not have it in, at least at the time the statement was made, was because they wanted to reduce the "spreadsheet" feel of magic, and in any case, in past games it was never a skill, and if Bethesda decided to make it a skill, it would logically be a magic skill, and judging from its position, the skill in question must be a stealth skill, since all the magic skills are clearly in view, and alchemy, which we've been told is now a stealth skill is between it and illusion.
In any case, I'm assuming it's speechcraft, I'm not seeing any official basis for the claim that speechcraft has been removed so I'm assuming that's not the case, though I wouldn't be surprised if speechcraft got merged with mercantile, the new skill could still be called speechcraft, but would cover the former functions of both skills, and could potentially have perks to allow players to focus on the persuasion or trading side of it. I can't see what other skill it could be, since it must be a stealth skill and I'd assume the "aft" is "-craft", and the only stealth skill from past games I can think of that ended in craft was speechcraft. Either that, or it's a new or renamed skill, but I'm not sure what that could be.
