What Country Should FO4 Be In?

Post » Sun Oct 10, 2010 6:10 am

Definitely needs to stay in the US. The '50s Americana style is so vital to the Fallout world that it's kind of hard to imagine it feeling like a Fallout game if it were set anywhere else.

England the closest ally of the US? :biglaugh:

But anyway, i think fallout should just stay where it is

Well, maybe not the closest, but one of them, and certainly the largest of those super-close allies. Since about the early 1900s the UK and US have been growing closer and closer, probably reaching a peak during the '80s and generally staying around there since. If you disagree, feel free to send me a PM.

US of A, without question. New York would be awesome (Check my Fanfic for a good one starting there). You also have to consider that survivors from Europe (Dukov, russia; Coliarty, Ireland and Tenpenny, England) are coming to the States, so you can only imagine how bleak the rest of the world is.

The USA would be my choice although japan would be nice. reason being, japan was very much in our "control" at the time, and it sits between China and the US. would be interesting to see.

Houston, TX is already a wasteland in real life. no offense. Vegas was a much better choice.

ps. Africa is a continent, not a country. The countries there do in fact have names..

id like it to be set pre-bomb drops just to give us some info on the world before it got bombed. Not the whole game just the start of it then you get puleed into the vault and then when the game starts your the grandson/daughter of this guy/girl.

i dont think it should be moved to another country it just wont feel like a fallout game if it does.

It's a spinoff. So no. Otherwise it would be the sixth.

Or how great they thought the US would be......

Back to the subject, I think either a pre-war USA to post nuclear USA (like how the poster a few posts above me said) would do great, Canada (near Montreal or Quebec), Miami, London (Maybe add how Pre-War UK could have been along the lines of a dictatorship, or gone back to a Monarchy?), or China.....but, where the US invaded China.

Maybe Alaska?

As long as it's in the US it doesn't matter to me. I just want area 51 included in New Vegas.

UK would be interesting in a Threads/Day of the Triffids style.

Pity my reaction to supermutants with OTT Cockney accents would be peeing myself with laughter...

Need it be an actual real country. Any country chosen would be foreign to most other players anyway, so it could be a real or semi-real fantasy country, yet with a past history, mannerisms and content generally similar to our understanding of what the past was like.

Speaking as one from the UK, the US is a foreign country to me, and you could just make-up the scenario location for Fallout 4 as being anywhere and it would make no difference to me, though if a real location was chosen, those familiar with the place might get a kick out of it. You could either have a mix of similarities to various countries, or just stick with the US.

i still say they should just use the whole world, not just be stuck down in one country...use the whole world...or whats left of it...still wanting to find out which continent sank "beneath the boiling oceans" according to ron perlman.

Spoken like a true patriot.

But I agree F4 should take place in America.Technically though couldn't it be done in what was Canada before it was annexed and still be in the US

It looks like there are some beatnik Commie Liberals in this thread. Remember to vote for your favorite Republican candidate.

I wouldn't mind seeing what happened to England because I live here in England but does anyone else think it would be interesting to see what happened to China, it was China and America who were mainly at war and fired the Nukes at each other :nuke:

Fallout 4 is not Fallout: New Vegas, though time will tell if it should be.
