What Crysis 2 DLC needs

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 8:38 am

I know it's fairly early to talk about Crysis 2 DLC but this is the first game i've ever played where it's a day down the road from it's initial release date and I already know the maps fairly well. This is because of the insane jumps and the ability to get from one point to another in a matter of seconds. Not that "that" is a bad thing. It's great...
I just think we need bigger maps. From what I hear Crysis 1 had way bigger maps, and I wouldn't mind that...

I think Crysis did a great job with this game... 10/10 but I would like to see more vehicles on the maps. I know these 12 maps aren't oriented around vehicles so that would mean the DLC would have to be...
I can think of a few locations it can use like an overgrown lush version of Central park... ( http://www.centralpark.com/usr/photos/large/e0/central-park-jewel-in-the-sky.jpg )

or a mid town Mansion with large wooden floors (click the link to see what I mean) ( http://www.abqhigh.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/img_8566.jpg ) that has 3 stories...the first floor leading out into the streets, the 2nd one wooden floors with beds, table, and such... the 3rd being a car showroom with a few cars that you can drive through breakable glass or you can kick 3 stories downwards and possible kill an opponent...

I would also like a medium sized map that resembles a hospital during the day time with an office-esque entrance that looks like this picture: ( http://costaricainfoblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/costa-rica-hospital-entrance-300x225.jpg ) and with the rooms after that to have tight corridors and small hospital rooms like in this picture ( http://www.dependpainting.com/images/hospital%20hallway%20HIGH%20web.jpg ) and eventually leading to an open, but square shaped garden like in this picture: ( http://www.topboxdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/Wandsworth-Acute-Unit-at-Springfield-University-Hospital-exterior-garden-588x398.jpg )

After going through the garden, you'll have a horizontal hallway that will have two directions leading you back to the small hospital rooms but will have an entrance to two elevators that will lead you to the 2nd story. On the 2nd story you'll have sniping points at the windows looking out into the garden but the rest of the floor will be an office space like pictured ( http://www.spaceout.com.au/images/global/large-office.jpg ). The beauty of the 2nd floor will be it is a few feet too high for the nano suit to reach so there are two options to get to the 2nd floor, the elevators, and a fire exit with a staircase. After being on the first step of the staircase, one can super-jump to the door and make their way in...

These are just some of my thoughts. I'll share more if you like.

You heard right about bigger maps. Remember the size of the outside Wasteland in Fallout 3? Some of Crysis 1 / Wars maps would have hogged up a LOT of the space size.

Nice picks for pics for the maps. The Central Park idea is great. But perhaps in the style that was used for the last mission (not giving away details to those who haven't gotten there yet :] ).

P.S. What Crysis 2 DLC needs to be also is free. The way it always was with new maps/updates from Crytek.
