What did we do that warrants our Execution?

What about a Going Postal (Discworld novel)-ish sollution.
The hero is hanged, but they put him in the coffin just before he dies, and gets brought to Esbern.

How do we know it's not just a bunch of roadside bandits that got the jump on us and captured us, and are using us as a sacrifice or something...

There are some really hilarious posts in this thread :lmao: I applaud you all.

My character created the first steam powered rifle. They destroyed any record of his research and sentenced him to death :P

Seriously I'd say I'm about to be executed for brutally slaughtering as many followers of Azura as I could find. If that would even be considered a crime in Skyrim.

I think he's saying: "We torched the mainframe, so the daedra took the rapper's spotted owel, and then we were like ARGH and wtf while the guards were completly ticked which led to our execution and death."

I choose to believe I'm off to the gallows for something that's been coming to my character for a long, long, long time. They're finally hanging me for the Habasi rendezvous.

My dark, Nordic wandering ranger type character was possessed by some nasty [censored] and slaughtered his wife and child. Now he has to deal with what he's done, and being executed for it, and now suddenly dragons are gonna start attacking the world so it's looking pretty gloomy so far...

You don't include the idea that the player is waiting for an execution and not take them there. Its the same concept behind not showing a gun in a movie if it doesn't go "BANG!" eventually.

We, as the player, may be brought all the way to the place of execution, and be right in the midst when something happens that saves us. There may be a series of other executions happening already. We've already seen concept art for the executioner, his axe, and him holding a bloody severed head, so I think we can hope to see some gore just before our own necks are on the line.

Would be even more interesting if this gets pulled into the general justice system for Skyrim after the start of the game. I think it would be interesting that if you are a convicted murderer, that if you are caught you have to break yourself out of prison or be rescued before your execution. We shall see though. Right now, based on the concept art and the recent information, I am positive we will see executions in some form or another.

Man! I called it in my prediction for Skyrim's opening. Niice. However, I don't want to be too spoiled as to the details of it all.

I will say though that my first character, a Nord, will probably be facing the blade/noose due to an old wound he had tried to shave off. He's also a pro-imperial, which just adds to his reasons for death in the eyes of his captors.

Although, IMO, the Dutch Magazine got it wrong. I don't see how we can see our own execution in a way that isn't cheesy or convoluted. We'll probably be witnessing others executions, but something will happen just before our heads leave their bodies.

I think he means we "Burned the ?computer? so the deadra took the ?Kings?: S Owl=soul? and then we were like ?banging? and ?smacking? while the gaurds were very mad at us. Which leads to our death.

Forget the executioner... How about that tavern wench to the right!

Seriously though, I agree with you. I really doubt (or hope) we will witness our own execution. I'm expecting us to be freed by a rival faction invading. There is a civil war going on after all.

I SURE HOPE THAT WASN'T A SPOILER IN THE TOPIC HEADER !

Thanks a lot, mate.

edit: Maybe not a horrible spoiler, but I was proud of managing to stay away from the spoiler buttons in previous threads... oh well :/

Considering that Murder was only 1000 septim fine in Oblivion our character must have done something really bad to warrant out execution at the start of Skyrim.

So what did you do to deserve your fate?

Murdering guards was 1000, murdering nobles was around 500 and murdering peasants was 40
I tried this and it's true

Wasn't there already a thread about this? :) I'll just repeat what I posted earlier:

For usurping the throne of a Daedric Prince.
For survivng for 200 years and not leaving space in the mortal realm for someone else. (the execution is the forced charity :) ).

I'd like to think I was sent to jail because I slept with the kings wife and daughter... at the same time... while doing a rock guitar solo... on the desecrated corpse of god.

I think he's trying to say that he burned his computer with a flamethrower and smashed it with a hammer, so the Daedra took a rapper's owl, and he was face-palming after he was face-bricking, and the guards were completely madface at him, which led to him playing a violin and sprouting a halo.

That's what happens when you overdose on skooma.

Just wanted to point out that we might have "witness our own execution" as a result of a simple mistranslation. It could have been "we witness ourselves being led to our execution". My money is either on a sudden dragon rampage or some other comotion that gives us an opportunity the make a break for it. Though I wouldn't mind a brawl with the executioner first :) . Option 2 is that being close to death suddenly triggers your inborn dragon powers and you, inadvertantly, blow everything the #$% up within a mile of yourself (strange as it sounds, this one is very likely too, because Esbern has to find out that your a Dragonborn SOMEHOW). (Lamest) Option 3 is that the Blades already know you're a Dragonborn and they interrupt the execution.

He created an Oblivion mod that changes every single opponent you face into a Goblin Warlord. Yes, even the rats and Mehrunes Dagon.
