What did you character do today? #2

Post » Thu Apr 21, 2011 1:00 am

My character spent his time chilling in the now empty :( Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary in Cheydinhal. He trained his Conjuration up to Expert level and filled and organized all of the soul gems in his inventory in preparation for a trip to Kvatch.....

My new High Elf character (Daemon) is busy in the Shivering Isles right now. He just reclaimed the Dark Seducer stronghold and went to kick a few Grummites around after the Dark Seducer commender called him the duchess of Mania. He's not too happy about it, but unwilling to kill the guards while the Isles are in crisis (that's his reason, I just don't want to trigger the DB yet).

You should give up the temption and murder him. that is an offense on your very nature, and should not be left unpunished.

True that, but the DB quest can glitch if it is triggered in SI. Lucien says the "I have no greeting" thing. Since I'm on Xbox I can't fix it. I'm going to kill a bunch of city guards. I want to build up a huge infamy score before I join. Daemon is my evil character. I plan to have his infamy reach 500 before he does either the Thieves guild or the Dark Brotherhood. He is biding his time.

Ouch, talk about an ego killer...

Calacirya posed for some photos and found out that falling through the ground can in fact happen seven times in the same game session, apparently. :brokencomputer: She also gathered some plants and made a few Damage Health-poisons, which she plans to use on her upcoming raid of random places in the Shivering Isles. Calacirya aka Sheogorath aka the Duchess of Mania will be returning to her realm soon! And Calacirya's very excited. She's always loved the Shivering Isles, because it's so crazy. Which makes it different and fun.

Ezra leveled up today, so she's now all of level 2! And well on her way to becoming a master assassin. She met up with the infamous Lucien Lachance (and was completely smitten), killed Rufio, killed Captain Tussaud and killed Baenlin. She had a lot of fun, as did I, and even though she doesn't know it yet we're waiting anxiously for the Summitmist Manor-quest, which is always sooooo much fun. And it's coming up soon, and we're psyched! Oh yes, and she also posed for some photos, which can be seen in the Hot Characters-thread, if anyone's interested.

Heddvild just closed the Bravil gate.

The guard's comment, when she walked up to him: "You're out late, Ma'am."

Upon my return to IC I decided to clean up in my armory, weaponry and other adventuring gear as my http://i52.tinypic.com/r7w590.jpg was getting a bit messy. For some reason people kept giving me rings. I have about 10 magic rings in a jar on my shelf, and I don't know what to do with them. Thoronir gave me a ring when I exposed his supplier a few months ago, maybe he'll be interested in buying some of these.

After a good Spring cleaning I had a lot more gold and immediately went to the Goddess store down by the docks and bought myself some nice clothes.

Returning to my house I was met by the fighter's guild artist who asked me to do another pose for a poster to be hung around town. This one was supposed to imply the amount of fantastic adventures one could expect once joining the guild. As I wasn't in any hurry to be anywhere else I agreed. He had brought another http://i54.tinypic.com/11r7xap.jpg pieced together from little pieces of metal, made by the smith in Bruma. I might have to have a word with them about these armors as they would be pretty useless in battle. The artist drew himself in as an evil wizard and the http://i52.tinypic.com/2cohjkm.jpg came out pretty nice.

Afterwards I went over to the First Edition to see what I could learn from Phintias about Seridur. Roland had claimed his innocence in the death of his lover, and cast the blame on Seridur, stating that Phintias might know of his whereabouts. Sure enough, Phintias told me that the supposed vampire liked hanging out in an old burial cave on the opposite shore of Lake Rumare. Once I had armored up and made my way over there, I had no doubts that Roland was right. The place was horrendous. Dead mutilated bodies hung from chains in the ceiling, raised from their graves and used as http://i51.tinypic.com/euf0vt.jpg. It made my stomach turn and my temper flare. I firmly gripped Debaser and couldn't wait to punish this vampiric being for his wicked ways. I sincerely hoped the stories were true, and that my magic sword would do the trick. I soon found out they were. Apparently Seridur had himself another little cult, and the first vampire I ran into was not Seridur. He appeared just another rogue, but fast and agile. It took all my battle skill and all my willpower to suppress my temper and instincts, but in the end he fell just like any other rogue had. Thanks to my Dragonborne armor, which was light, sturdy and comfortable, I had only suffered a few minor cuts. It also let me sneak up on the next one and mark him with a few silver arrows before I had to draw Debaser again. This one went down a bit harder, but now I knew how they moved. The next one turned out to be a magician of sorts, a conjurer. He had me go through a few zombies and skeletons before his evil body crumbled on the ground and turned into dust.

No less than 7 of them I had to slay before finally coming upon Seridur himself. It was obvious he recognized me, and the fire in his eyes spoke of annoyance and a mere nuisance rather than the fear of his impending demise. Not a word was spoken as we battled in the caves, among mutilated corpses and old tombs. Debaser took him apart one bite at the time. In the end he too succumbed and turned into dust. It was over, and I could return to Roland and tell him he was safe. On my way back out of the cave I felt a stinging in my left shoulder. I inspected my shoulder through the armor, but the only thing I found was a pointed tooth stuck in my flesh. Seridur had bit me during the battle, but I hadn't felt it at the time. Now it stung and an odd sensation spread through my body. I pulled it out and flung it into the darkness. It was time to go home and clean up, and maybe find a doctor who knew about vampire bites.

A snip from Chapter 41:

* * *
When I looked at the other creature, Aymar's words about facing my nightmares came back to me. The creature moved about with a birdlike manner on two powerful legs, while sharp talons at the end of small forearms clawed the air. A long snout narrowed to a vicious beak. Quite unlike that of a bird of prey however, the beak sported a full complement of dagger-like teeth. The beast's body was covered in the scales of a reptile. A serpentine tail waved behind it, seeming to balance the massive bony shield that crested and ringed the animal's head. I recognized the Daedra as a clannfear, from sketches I had seen in various texts. I figured this must have been a young one however, because it was not much bigger than I.

From what I had read, clannfears were fast, mean and would eat you. My skin crawled and my feet wanted to retreat.

Yesterday my character cleared out most of Nornalhorst and attempted to fight Lord Volmyr but realized that he was severely outmatched and needed to concoct a few new potions and poisons, enchant some new equipment, unload all of the excess stuff he was carrying and create a few new spells. Going back today to take him on mano a mano(on hardest difficulty go me!).

Buffy's not fallin' for that! She rescued some ogres from Lord Drad's place for Malacath one time. Well I guess the ogres were grateful 'cuz they were nice to her. So. . . silly elf figured all ogres were nice. Well. . . you can imagine what happened when she encountered a real ogre and went up to say 'hi'. Yep, it involved wetting her greaves and running. Lol.

No worries though. Since then, she has ogres all sorted out now. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv43/Acadian6/ScreenShot515.jpg .

"Kiva, look out!" shouted Vilja.
It was too late however, as one of the dremora she had been fighting threw her over the edge, falling into the pillar of fire.
Time seemed to slow for Kiva as she fell to her invevitable doom.
Yet, as she was about to fall into the fire, she froze. She couldn't move; she was being held in the air by...something.
She could only wonder what was happening as she slowly started to rise upwards.
As she was lifted back to the stairs, she could feel the power weakening.
So, she jumped off of thin air back to the stairs, decapitating the dremora who had pushed her off in the process.
Vilja could only stare in shock, as Kiva rushed off to the sigil keep.

Using a lightning spell she never knew she had, she blasted a couple of clannfear off to the other side of the room, and confronted the lead dremora protecting the sigil stone.
"You will not survive my wrath, churl!" he roared in his gutteral voice, as he launched a lightning spell at her.
The spell however, was reflected by her amulet, and the dremora staggered.
Rushing forward, she infused her fist with fire magic, and punched the dremora in the stomach, boring a hole straight through him.
As she was about to seize the sigil stone as her prize, she felt somehow drained. She felt her vision blur, and with a startled cry, she fell over on the ground, unconcious.
The last thing she remembered was the distinctive sound of the sigil stone being taken, and the strong hand of Vilja hauling her off the floor.

Good to see the stories are just as awesome still :D
And, I decided my next story character will be a Vampire. But that is pretty much all I got so far.

Heddvild had a busy time. She brought back Sheogorath's toy for Martin, and then she did a Blades escorting job, nursemaiding Captain Burd and his Merry Men through Red Sky Country.

Then she was off on a whirlwind tour, to assemble an army. First stop, Cheydinhal, where she found herself nursemaiding another set of sword-swinging yahoos, this a pair of well-named "Thorns."

Anybody have a recipe for a good Headache Potion?

A vampire? Hmm. . . Buffy is a Slayer. You may recall the Azura's Shrine quest involved freeing her followers from being turned by the ancient vampire, Dratik. Well, Buffy did just that. Deep in the bowels of Gutted Mine, she found Dratik's Journal, written hundreds of years ago and describing the life, rise and fall of Dratik. She kept the book of course and even transcribed in into her journal. It is a savage, but poignant love story actually. Here is a link to it: http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=4474&view=findpost&p=118225

Here is a snip from Dratik's Journal so you can evaluate whether it might be of interest:

* * *
As Sadene and I began to discover our power, the newly heightened senses we enjoyed impassioned not only our lovemaking, but fueled a rampaging bloodlust. We reveled in the slaughter of men and mer under the stars, and for over a decade, our immortality allowed the unopposed carpeting of eastern Cyrodiil with blood.

Whispered rumors began to drift up from the wounded land that our reign of terror had attracted the attention of the Slayer, Vienele.

As Sadene and I traversed a small meadow one night, the sweet deadly scent of nightshade announced the approaching threat. The small Breton suddenly appeared in the moonlight, and lifted a glowing hand. As she opened her fist, a brief burst of sunlight burned our eyes, skin and minds. By the time we recovered, she had reappeared behind us. Flashing a pair of flaming blades and moving like a cat, she turned upon my love.

Knives of blue ice flew from the fingertips of Sadene's off hand, while her short sword parried many of the Slayer's fiery slashes and thrusts. I answered the attack with my katana, powered by vampiric strength and speed.

I paid the ultimate price for victory that night. My precious elf, along with our dream of everlasting love, lay destroyed in my arms.

I loosed a roar to Masser and Secunda that shook the very trees. My fangs tore into the soft, still warm throat of the dead Slayer to feed my rage and try to gain some of her power. Immediately, I spat her blood from my mouth as it seared my lips and throat.

I knew the approaching dawn would cleanse Sadene's body and claim her spirit, leaving only dust behind. Empty and alone, I returned to Redwater Slough.

Little backstory about my character before I begin the minutes. I use a few vampire mods, two of which I highly recommend. LTD-Vampire Overhaul and Training cattle make for a good game. My character is a vampire mage with more murders than fame (By about 30). So in a PR campaign to show that she is completely evil my mage started doing some favors for the Mages Guild.

The Count of Skingrad summoned her to take care of a problem with vampires and those that would hunt them. Things go awry from the start. As soon as I leave the castle and head for town I see trouble a brewin'. A vampire NPC from Training Cattle was in Skingrad for some reason and heading to the castle. One of the hunters comes running out of town and blasts her off the bridge with his warhammer knocking her unconscious for two minutes. He focuses his attention on me. How he knows that I'm a vampire is beyond me. I'm fully fed and in human form at night time. He rocks me down to half health before I finally land the death blow with a lightning bolt.

So I head into town and greeted with another hunter on his crusade with dying. This one isn't hard though as the guards and Reman Broder protect me. Don't know why though since they all call me filth. Two down one two to go.

I get in my head that I'm not even going to give the the next one the chance to get the jump on me. So I stack chamleon spells and gear up to around 90% and go lurking for him. Then it happens. Glarthir comes up and ruins the element of suprise. Over 70 days I avoided this mook like the plague. I took exception to this and chopped his head off where he stood.

Now I have the leader on me and have to retreat to West Weald Inn casting summons to slow him down. Inside the Inn Maglir and Else God-Hater come to my rescue. Else gets cut down and Maglir gets knocked out before I can take him down. While I'm there I found out the last hunter is at the other inn.

I cut him down while he slept. Plunged my dagger into his heart a few extra times for safe measure. I do the mistake and drink from his corpse and was found out to be a vampire. So I run down to Bloodcrust and mop up the filth in there. Not too hard since they all like me and they don't hit like a mack truck.

I tell the Count it's done and gtfo out of Skingrad before I have 20 sets of guard Armor to sell. Maybe I'll come back in a month or two after the hubbub dies down.

Whatever made those hunters so damn hard to take out made a boring quest into one that turned into the better experiences on this character. Sorry for the long read.

Teresa learned a few things about the Ayleids from her new tutor, Herminia Cinna:

"Well, I'm not a student at the University," Teresa explained. "I just want to learn more about the Ayleids is all. Especially about the later Ayleid period."

"Oh, I'm sorry," the Imperial said. "Most of my clients are students having trouble passing the required history studies. I rarely meet someone who wants to learn more just for its own sake! But then again, when I first set eyes upon you, I almost thought you might be one of the star elves yourself!"

"The star elves?" Teresa asked through beetling eyebrows, "what are they?"

"Well the Ayleids of course," the other woman explained. "Or to be proper and use the term they did - Arimer. Aris being the Old Aldmeris word for 'star', and of course mer meaning 'people'. The word 'Ayleid' only came about during the Alessian Revolution. It is an amalgam of the Old Aldmeris word ayrel - which is used for those elves who departed Summerset in the Mythic Age - and the ancient Nordic word leidr, - which means 'hateful'. It was a word only used by humans, and never by the elves."

Teresa blinked. Raminus Polus had been right, this was clearly the person to talk to about the Ayleids - the Arimer - she mentally corrected herself.

"I never knew any of that," Teresa admitted. "Why do I look like them?"

"Well, that pale skin of course," Herminia declared. Rising to her feet, she stepped past Teresa and rummaged in the bookshelf for a few moments. Drawing one down, she leafed through its pages and finally handed it to Teresa. Looking within, the forester saw a page rendered in brilliant color, showing a regally dressed elven woman sitting upon a throne. Her skin was pale as moonlight, and her eyes green as jade. To either side of her stood elven courtiers with the same wan skin. Standing behind her was a plainly dressed human girl, with long dark hair and a downcast face.

"That is Queen Tenyeminwe, the last ruler of Lipsand Tarn, and one of the greatest magicians of the Arimer," Herminia said, pointing at the seated woman. Then her finger moved to the human behind the Queen. "And that is Alessia herself. She was Tenyeminwe's handmaiden, and unknown to the Queen, she taught herself magic by observing her mistress."

"Oh my." Teresa stared at the page with rapt attention. She could not help but to notice the similarity between herself and the elves depicted within.

Poison-Tongue Defended the realm of sheogorath for a good amount of cash, trained against the various monsters in that realm to reach level 50 marksman.
(ZOOM FTW!!) and spent some of the cash to stock up on dwarven arrows. Then he helped supplied some warriors with weapons and helped them defeat goblins in a mine.

Gotta say, today was a good day. (:

Anri's private little war continues with the misguided followers of Jephre. The dark ranger has little interest in stopping Warmer's raids about the Gold Coast, or banishing the evil rangers from Cyrodiil, or freeing the true followers of Jephre. Indeed, she could not care less of even who Jephre was. However, these deluded men and women are a pox to Sithis: their heretical beliefs along with their wretched lives must be purged.

Today, Narind was finally cleansed, and the final struggle in Yeleri began. Her tactics demand caution and time, as she does not wish to frighten her opponents. They should be calm and unwitting as Sithis's judgment passes over them. So, her struggle is a time-intensive one (if for no other reason than the time it takes to haul back to camp and sell their valuable equipment). Once their heathen leader lays in a pool of his own blood, gargling and gasping for his last breath, he shall see Anri's shadow over him, watching him drown, hoping to see the visage of the Void in his eyes.

All of my characters ganged together and started a quest to bash my sub-conscious with protests against their extended limbo-incarceration: the shadow assassin talked her way sweetly wearing a carnival g-string, while the master-wizard cast combinations of friendly and offensive stuff and the berserker orc yelled with that hammer.

But the silent piles of bills beside my monitor spoke louder and they were all sent another month least into... Oblivion....
