What did you do in Daggerfall today?

*snip*

I just did the same exact quest. :P The way you described it was exactly like it happened to me, but I thought most quests were randomly generated.

They are completely related. Did you even watch the introduction video with the Emperor? That explains the story. Spectral army haunting his old kingdom crying out for revenge? Yeah, it's related.

I did but I kinda tuned out what was saying.

After tying up loose ends with the nobles of Daggerfall, Kathris was ready to begin her voyage to Sentinel in order to meet with Prince Lhotun. The night before the ship's departure, however, the elf's slumber was interrupted by outlandish moaning and groaning from out in the tavern hall. Kathris drew the dagger she kept on her person at all times for such interruptions. Peeking out into the hallway, she saw a zombie - she could tell that this wasn't one of the victims of the petty necromancers in Daggerfall, however. This was the work of the King of Worms (she had regrettably been through both the Scourg Barrow before and plenty of lesser graveyards to know the difference). Her eyes immediately darted to the note sewn within the creature's chest. Dispatching of the monster and removing the note, Kathris quickly read it over.

The King of Worms had requested another favor of the elf, undoubtedly pleased with her courier skills during the negotiation with Morgiah. This one seemed to be of a less serious matter, but as her ship was to dock at the Isle of Balifera before re-routing to Sentinel, she decided it wouldn't hurt to switch ships and head to the Dragontail Mountains first for another meeting with the necromancer. After several weeks of seafaring, Kathris made landfall in the mountains and began travel to the Scourg Barrow.

The colossal fortress towered above her, just as eerily silent and unmoving to the harsh high altitude winds as it was before. Of course, Kathris knew that the building itself was long since deserted, and the true occupants of the barrow dwelled deep below the structure. Being greeted once again by the familiar group of coffins lining the walls of the building's antechamber, Kathris remembered the right pathway and made her way down to the King of Worms' throne room. The opposition encountered was just as fierce as last time - the necromancers must have re-reanimated the minions moments after she left last time.

Passing the droves of ancient liches and necromantic followers, the King of Worms stood posed over his scepter, his eyes glowing with dark magic as before. He asked Kathris to locate a lich, supposedly lurking in the dungeons beneath the palace of Sentinel. Convenient indeed, as that was her intended destination all along. Perhaps while she's getting introduced with Lhotun, she could convince him to give her a "tour" of said dungeons...

I re-installed it after having to wipe out my drives a couple of months ago due to a virus. Luckily I still have all my old saves, so nothing lost.

Your lucky. My older files I play in Spring was gone with the Tower when my computer just broke down. I did not even back it up online. So in the end, I start everything from scrap from my laptop. But its still fun!

So last nite, my Argonian decided to try something a bit different then raiding a graveyard. She raided an "abandon" castle instead. Being low level, she have to run away from all vampires she encounter.

After an hour of the raid, she went back to town, sold the loot in an Armory, and buys more books to read in a nearby inn!

Just got out of the mind numbing horror that is Privateer's Hold with the terrifying wailing of its haunted denizens silenced..for now. At the moment am trying to reach the nearest town which i thought would have been Gothway Manor to sell my dungeon salvage for better goods and a warm meal in a comfortable tavern but after a long trek in the freezing snow and some unnatural encounters with zombies along with hungry rats coming out of nowhere i finally checked my world map seeing i was way off my target. So being lost i will try to get unlost. I am now outside some old womans isolated cabin and will be entering it in my next play session. Probably some nice lonely old hermit woman. I dont remember there being any crazy ones in DAGGERFALL that would be too brutal in its realism :P

Oh i also passed out a couple of times from exhaustion in the bone chilling wilderness :read: Fun times! Fun times!

Well, I started a new character instead of continuing to play my old character to commemorate the release of Daggerfall to the general public. An armored, sword-wielding Breton mage is certainly one of the most terrifying sites to ever grace Privateers hold. I was fortunate to not only be in the possession of an Ebony Dagger, but was insanely fortunate to come across an Elven Longsword, along with a Silver Longsword, after slaying a pestersome archer.

Anyway, as I was exploring that den of miscreants, I was set upon by a skeletal abomination, intent on shredding me to pieces no doubt. After a harrowing fight, the creature went down. I found on his person a map. A map to the Coven on the Bluff! After I exited Privateers Hold, I instantely made my way to this Witches coven. Speaking with their represenative, I embarked on a series of quests with magical rewards. I was gifted with a shield that gave me the power to float in the air (levitation enchantment), a shirt and amulet that made me as strong as a giant (I now have 100 strength at level 2), and I was also rewarded with a katana that I sold to a man in Gavaudon, and some sandals that would have boosted my strength further but I was unable to benefit from these due to my already abundant strength.

After questing for these lovely witches in Daggerfall, I made my way to the small duchy of Gavaudon, where I have enlisted in the service of its Mages Guild. I obtained necessary spells to fight and the like, and will continue my adventures again tomorrow.

QUESTION: How do you get spell that target a person to hit them? My Wizard's Fire spell goes right through them.

What did I do? I started a new character. Got her into the Mage's Guild, the Fighter's Guild, the Thieves Guild, and the Dark Brotherhood.

Aren't the latter two mutually exclusive? Unless it's just a matter of one guild invitation becoming impossible to get once you join the other - in which case I guess you just tirggered both invitations.

Knowing Daggerfall, that's perfectly plausible.

You can be in both the dark brotherhood and the thieves guild at the same time. It's temples and knightly orders that you're thinking of. You can't be in two temples or two knightly orders. So you can't be in the temple of julianos and the temple of akatosh, for example. The four main guilds are NOT mutually exclusive.

Thieves guild is pickpocket 10 times or break into a store at night. Dark Brotherhood is kill 5 innocents or 15 guards. I don't see how those would conflict with each other.

I just got killed by that damn Archer. <.<

That archer is pretty easy, so long as you stay close enough he doesn't shoot you, but still across the table from him. Rush in, hit him, retreat, let him whiff the air, repeat. This works with all opponents to a degree, but with the table blocking him, he can't touch you unless you decide to let him.

I did but I kinda tuned out what was saying.

Heh, you're going to be confused a lot if you're not paying attention.

As for me:

Fredas, 20th of Rain's Hand
Order of the Hour, Wayrest

Last Sundas was a big mail day for me. First off, I got a wedding invitation from Princess Morgiah. I'm sure I'll be sending my regrets. I also got a letter from Prince Lhotun. It seems he knows something about the Haunting. I was planning to return to Castle Daggerfall to start working my way toward Mynisera's information regarding the Emperor's letter, but the haunting takes precedence. So I planned to travel to Sentinel next.

But first, Morgyrra Gaerwing of the Order of the Hour had a task for me. It seems a priest named Andyrick Greenford isn't exactly playing with a full deck, gets into the "ceremonial" wine from time to time, and ran off crazy, once again. He'd been tracked to a place called Anivor, and the task of retrieving him fell to me.

Anivor was a pretty basic ruin; no especially difficult opponents or tricky passages. The place was full of orcs. It took some time to find the particular passage Friar Greenford was hiding out, but I did eventually find him, knocked him out, and immediately teleported back with him to the Order's headquarters.

Now it is time to travel to Sentinel.

That ratio should be the other way around, shouldn't it? At least, I'm hoping.

Not really. If you're killing cops, it may be because you're a heartless, cold blooded killer... or it could just be incidental to your business. But if you're going after random strangers in the street, you are clearly what the Brotherood is looking for.

Still in the same dungeon, but now I ran into 1 ancient vampire, and 2 freaking ancient liches! And I'm only level 3! Thank goodness they're bugged out, so they don't seem to try and attack if I keep moving back and forth. I hope I killed 1 so far...

Your fortunate. When i acttack an ancient vampire i only have one chance usually. After that i either run or am dead. Love their instant kill lethalness which captures their immortal inhuman speed and strength.

Haven't found anything ancient yet. Maybe a good thing, thoough I'm level 3 too.

Spent a good chunk of the day helping my friend get up to speed on the game, while also continuously raiding a crypt until I had my wagon filled. It was scary when my level went up and instead of a thief I would get a skeleton every time. Hauled something like 50k worth of loot out of that. Need to hit up a mages guild for some teleport goodness. Went to the pawn shop in Bubyrydata for a good deal. Took 37 days of travelling with a horse. There's no bank there so I found one in a nearby kingdom in Hammerfell along the coast (I like the desert places). 38k gold just isn't even close to enough to buy a ship. Gotta load up on spells and haul stuff from a big dungeon.

Also had to redo a mass selling operation. Hit clear to avoid selling an elven sabre and it just disappeared altogether. That was frustrating. Was a big cycle of sell stuff, loiter six hours to raise skill, sell more, etc.

I didn't think I would be able to do it, but I did. I cleared an entire dungeon using only offensive magick with only 2 rests. I never attempted it before since I would only play melee characters, but this spell-caster might very well become my main character.

Well, I died. I'm doing an ironman game, so that if I die, that adventurer is GONE (barring any bugs).

I got caught by surprise by a werewolf, but I did get infected by the werewolf. I dreamt of a man who is not quite a man. The good type of infection, not the 'oink oink' type.

I died because I touched a red brick wall.

I usually play in Ironman mode, too, though it means that I rarely finish the game :-)
My personal record is with custom Nord Priest, who attained title of Master in the Temple of Stendarr. He died fighting Ancient Lich during the last quest before promotion to Patriarch.

My current character, dark elven wizard, escaped Privateers Hold and currently rests in Gothway Garden, pondering what to do next.
