So today, I started a House Redoran/Temple character using medium armor, spear, and restoration as my primary skills. I was doing the quest that has you go to Ald Velothi for the first time to cure Theldyn Virith of an illness. However, along the way, I ran across a young Imperial female that asked me to find her ring in the bottom of a muck pond. Being the chivalrous chap that my character was, he gladly decided to search several hours into the night for her lost ring. After many a hard dives, I finally found the ring. Upon surfacing, an arrow glanced my shoulder. Instinctively, looking in the direction of the offender, I see the female, holding a dagger and staring at me with bloodthirsty eyes. Realizing that I had been deceived, I rushed at the theif with my spear, and impaled her upon its tip. Seizing the last of her energy, she plunged her steel viperblade, into my side. The enchantment should have killed me then and there, but the sign of the atronach absorbed the blow, returning my magicka to full, while the mundane damage lowered my health to a dangerous level.
As her body slumped off of my silver weapon and onto the ground, I took a swift glance around to find the faint appearance of a chitin-clad archer 5 yards away from my position. Realizing I was low on health, I stumbled back toward the pond and took cover behind some boulders as I readied my Hearth Heal spell. On my first cast, I could hear the archer snarling profanities at me. Her curses must have been answered as the spell failed to heal. On my second cast, she peered around the corner, and let fly an arrow. It nearly missed me as my health reached its full capacity again. I then readied my spear, and began to thrust towards her with deathly speed. The cunning wench dodged my blows repeatedly as she retreated toward the open road adjacent to the pond. Another arrow pierced my torso, however, it made no difference as she backed into a signpost, and my spear entered her heart. An agonizing scream came from her quieting maw as she collapsed onto the ground in a lifeless form.
As the combat finished, a voice echoed through my ears saying "No good deed shall ever go unpunished, mortal." It was then, that I knew that Azura had guided my spear in battle, and granted me the privelege to live another day. I casted hearth heal a third and final time, and then checked both corpses for indication as to who the two would-be theives were. I could only find their clothes, weapons, and armor on them, leaving with a feeling of emptiness not knowing who my foe was. Then, a twinkle caught my eye, and found the Amulet of Shadows on the neck of the dastardly archer. I knew that an item as powerful as this was invaluable in certain situations, and claimed it as a consolation prize for my toil. Further on down the road, I could begin to see the torches of Ald Velothi, and knew that my destination was near. Upon reaching the outpost, I asked the guard where Virith was, and followed his directions to the man. He thanked me for the cure disease potion, and told me to stop by again as he may have work for me in the future. After casting an Almsivi Intervention, and returning to the at Ald'ruhn, I went to the Andus tradehouse to sleep and ponder my ordeal. That morning I would return to Neminda for my monetary reward, but for now, I will enjoy a good, deep rest.
