What did you do in Morrowind today? #9

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:53 am

Well, today has been an even more interesting day....my Nord Berserker squad and I have just http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8011 (+ http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6234) (tough bastard, nearly killed me although I'm at lvl 65), and now we're looking for a dwemer ruin where it's rumored to be another one. Even tougher than the other. Wow....I don't even know if we will survive... :P

My very under equiped Khajiit character with very few healing supplies and little skill at arms took on 4 bonelords, 4 skeleton warriors, and 2 rats under vivecs foreign quarters and survived....
Only to re-enter the area by mistake and meet up with 2 more bonelords and 2 more SW which magicly respawned, this time all at once....
He lost one of his nine lives that fight.
So he found an alchemist and brewed as many healing potions as he could afford, never to repeat this mistake again.

Took out a tomb of Vampires out by Khuul, horrible loot.
Cleaned out a Daedric Shrine, also horrible loot.
I bought an enchanted silver longsword called "Icicle"(15-30 frost dmg)
Bought a Redoran Watchman Helm,
Looking for an upgrade to my Chitin Armor set,
Leveled to 6,
Swore off Sujamma,
and I'm about to try a pure-mage (Imperial or Breton, I can't decide)

Today, I started a new Breton Mage. He did most of the local Seyda Neen Quests (except the Fargoth's hiding space, for some reason I was too lazy to do that), killed the nearby smugglers, raided two nearby tombs, found mentors ring, and went to Balmora to start a few Mages Guild quests.

Today I was exploring the Azura's Coast region and came across the Marvani Ancestral Tomb, in which I found http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Tukushapal. Hooray for loot! I'm in love with my new Imperial Dragonscale Tower Shield, it just looks great. I also realized that I hate Slaughterfish much more than I do Cliffracers. You can't even cross 10 feet of water without getting attacked by one. I was actually attacked by 6 or 7 at one point while swimming, and by the time it took me to explore all of the coast I must have killed close to a hundred of them.

Pretty much everything I did http://www.uesp.net/wiki/User:Vanguard/Randa, encompasses today's adventures.

Randa's my imperial guard. Today I got her to the top rank, and turned her Balmora Residence into a small Imperial "hangout", like a barracks. I put a few beds around, and also put an altar (complete with silver plate, bowl, and candles!) outside. Also outside, three training dummies and a forge/anvil.

I'm trying to put anything a guard character/NPC could need.
Too bad the altar isn't actually "interactable".

Tomorrow I will be working with the Imperial Cult.

Today my mage did all of Ajirra in Balmora's quests, then went to Ald'Ruhn and accidentally started the Thieves Guild quest to steal from the Mages Guild... only one problem... he can't pick a level 65 lock! So now he can't work on the Mages Guild there (which is why he went there).

Vanilla questline is decent, but if you've a PC, for God's sake, grab some good Telvanni mods. They're just amazing.

Today, after finishing all the jobs the Vvanderfell Telvanni Council has assigned me as the new Archmagister (including the inaguration of four new settlements, as well as gaining a lot of position in Vvanderfell), my char has gone to Port Telvannis (in the Mainland) in order to join the main branch of the Telvanni. After doing some chores from them, I decided that I needed a new tower, in order to have a decent secret place to do my research and alchemic experiments, far away from the Imperial pest (I just love Telvanni's way of life ^^), so I've located a nice, isolated island northwest of Port Telvannis where I'm going to http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=2594 my tower. It'll be called...Tel Skjulte :)

I'm proud to say I became an Aunde (spelling?) vampire on my mage character just after getting Goldbrand. This is my first time ever playing as a vampire, so I'm pretty pumped.

What are some things I absolutely need to do as a vampire?

Sorry to say (for sure) that if you aren't playing MW with mods, you AREN'T playing Morrowind :) It's just so fun and "roleplayistic" to create your own house in-game....

Emulated another player's idea and bought a ton (420 each) of Bloat, Ash Yams and Netch Leather from the IC Shrine in Sadrith Mora and proceeded to make and drink Forfity Intelligence potions using the set of Grandmaster apparatus I nicked from Abelle Chirditte. 220 potions later, with an Intelligence of 20mil+ and Magicka reserves so large I couldn't see all the numbers, I decided to see what I could do with one super potion each of Fortified Strength and Personality. Learned one very important thing: super stats are game-breakers.

  • Everyone, even people who were supposed to attack me, were immune from Taunting.
  • Daedric weapons become one-use items. I get the one-hit kill every time and then the weapon breaks.

The game crashed when my Bound Bow broke, so I decided that God-like stats are cool for about 10 seconds and then quickly fall to "meh", loaded my save, pulled out my Silver Short Sword and went back to my mundane pursuit of Fighters Guild quests.

Man, you've just uber-fortified two of the three attributes (of all eight) that are potentially game-breaking...juas (the other being Speed).

Damage done to your weapon when hitting depends of your Strength (makes sense, the stronger you hit, the more stress you put on your weapon), and yes, uber-Personality makes Taunt useless.

Anyway, I've also returned to normal long ago, and locked all the uber-powerful potions in the warehouse of Tel Skjulte....they're too powerful to let any mortal to use them.

Shot some new video footage of for Elemental Magicka.

Trying to optimize this MWSE script so that it doesn't halve framerate, but still runs often enough to do its job...

Looks good, and certainly my Nord would love to cast such Frost spells :)

BTW, are you planning on substitute the cast "Alteration" effect for any custom one?

Things like that I don't really want to touch because not everybody has the same tastes (and it would replace the alteration effect for every alteration spell), but to be honest, I couldn't change it if I could. I don't have the artistic talent or the skills needed to make a new effect :)

Edit: YouTube is uploading my new video so slowly =(

What are some things I absolutely need to do as a vampire?

Each Clan has a quest-line to do. Eventually getting cured is always an option too.

I'll probably bring some Skaal Warriors as guards,

Skaal warriors living in a Telvanni structure, in the middle of the most powerful Telvanni Land?
Sounds crazy.

Hey! They'll live wherever I say! :P

Maybe you're right. I'll have to look for a Nord guard somewhere else...I'm probably a bit influenced by the "Rise of the Telvanni" mod, where
Spoiler
three of the four new settlements are "tematic": a mix of Telvanni and a dwemer ruin, Telvanni and elements from the Argonian culture, and Telvanni and a greenhouse.

I didn't do anything in Morrowind besides fret over bugs that didn't even really exist. (Didn't run Morrowind as an admin cause some "friendly fellow" in the OB forums face palmed when I said I ran Morrowind as an admin.) So I had a crap ton of problems that I stressed about and didn't actually need to fix a thing!

But I'll be playing tonight though.

I mean taking a Silt Strider or boat.
Sun damage accumulates during the time spent in-travel.

Today I went on a clothes finding expedition.

FINALLY found the abandoned drow cave for the awesome looking leather armor (omg potions of nighteye = ace in there), bought everything off Aleanna then killed her for her dress & shoes, went to Myrabelle's and gleefully bought out the store, outfitted Julan and myself in some nice necklaces and a Neo-looking cape from The Crimson Wire, found the leather dress in the Caldera mages' guild, hit up Verara Rondo and Mille Hastien for stuff added to their inventory, bought everything off of and then killed Sierre for her robe (what, she wasn't selling it!).

Next on my list:

I plan to expand my clothing conquest to the Kalimer tradepost (they better have some new clothes for me if they know what's good for them), colored glass armor from Meldor (I'm going straight for the white!), heading over to Lightrider Hall to see if they have anything interesting and while I'm there check out some gothic attire, check out the Amazon armor over at Meldor's, hit up the Clothiers of Vvardenfell I haven't seen yet (Eysenladen in Tower of Fort Darius, Gnisis, then Moonmoth Legion Fort for armor, then Zergonipal Shrine to kick some ass for new clothes) then back to Vos for Aradia the weaver's clothes, over to the Zainab camp for fire dancer clothing, Tel Fyr for the male oblivion mithril, to Suran for the Ultra Light armor, Ald Sotha for the assassin's armor, and I may even head over to Solstheim just for the Meteoric Steel armor and Skaal for the new fur armor. Probably not in that order.

And finally, I need to beat the MQ so that I can get Azura's dress.

...

What do you mean, the purpose of this game isn't to get your character looking the prettiest? You could've fooled me. :P
