What did you do today in Morrowind? #10

Finally got around to one of my favorite moments with my third character: the Cavern of the Incarnate! It's such a solemn, moving moment, receiving the ring and speaking to the Failed Incarnates. I like to savor it.

Am currently heading back to the Urshilaku camp, hitting every daedric shrine, tomb, Sixth House cave, and outlaw campsite on the way. Can't wait for the squeals of "It's Reynasa! Nerevarine!" Urshilaku Nerevarine groupies are so cute.

I fixed the bug. Or it disappeared randomly because I

got the power!

Yesterday I completed the main quest. Now I'm bored. MOURNHOLD IS BORING, y'all. I lost Julan someplace in Mournhold and I'm too lazy to go find him. I gotta teleport back to the mainland and summon him with his ring, I guess.

I started a new character, Scarlet, a Redguard. She is now 13th level after mastering Alchemy and bribing dozens of NPC's into being her BFF's.

I did the Silent Pilgrimage with my ( at the start ) level eight, female, Dunmer Warmage. No tricks were used to speed the journey, no teleportation, no console commands, et cetera. Roads were used until I passed Falasmaryon, after which there really isn't a road for that last bit of Ashland. Ran the entire way, keeping Rest of St. Merris in effect to keep from becoming fatigued.

It was an enjoyable stroll. Athletics, a miscellaneous skill, increased by three to twenty-two; while Restoration, a major skill, increased by six to thirty-six from casting Rest of St. Merris, and Balyna's Soothing Balm after battles. It took one day and fourteen hours in-game to reach the shack -- one hour and eleven minutes real-time.

And now for the jog back...

The first few times I did this quest I thought no talking meant no spells allowed.
Cause you talk when using spells, right?

So I also walked all the way. But without magical aid.

When I finally got there I was very relieved and went into the shack to tell the Dumner lady of my success, wich would complete the quest, right?
Wrong.
Guess where my last save was. Thats right, Vivec city.

Ahh Morrowind :)

IIRC the shrine completes the quest. o.O

And who could actually say just ARE you talking when you're casting a spell? I don't hear anything. You're basically doing the similar hand movement with all the spells, too. :D Guess I've always thought of Morrowind's magic use as David Eddings-ish a-strong-enough-thought-is-enough, with no mantras nor accurate movements needed. :)

I didn't actually do this today, but as myself I decided to kill Vivec and harvest his soul. Also killed all the Redoran and Hlaalu councilors that were still left alive. Perfetcly normal outdoors day for the good ol' Nelacayne; sometimes he feels a little bored like this and just goes out to kill some folk, just for the lulz. Also heard about the Ebony Arrows of Slaying, grabbed them and brought them to Telvanni Vault.

I started a new character (again) a couple of days ago, and killed the Creeper. That is the first time I've EVER done that. I plan to just sell to who ever, where ever.

Found out today that those Ordinators at Telvanni Vault are respawning. :/ So, instead of killing them again, I created a Command Humanoid spell to lead them out of the vault. Now it's all my lair! ^_^ Added Umbra there today.

Umbra was a very tough fight - I actually had to heal myself with him. Something I haven't done in a long time with this overly powerful character. I guess I've never battled him fair and square like this, just levitated away and shot him with arrows or something.

More by "crook" than by "hook", I acquired a complete set of glass armor. I "took" the greaves, cuirass, and helmet from Percius in Ald'ruhn.
The rest of the armor I "obtained" from the shelves of Dronos Llervu's store in Ghostgate.

Now here was the surprising thing. This was my first visit with my character to Ghostgate. When going from outside to straight to the store, I also found a glass *tower shield* in a crate in the corner. This is not listed at UESPWiki, and was not there when I reloaded a save made while in the store during that first visit. First time there I took more pieces than I needed and noticed the tower shield but didn't take it. I reloaded my pre-stealing save in the room three times without finding the tower shield. I reloaded a save from outside and went in again and the shield was there. I made sure to take it that time. And only then did I take the rest of the pieces I needed to complete my set of glass armor, now complete with *tower shield*.

Edit: I did some checking by entering and exiting that basemant area, and the third item in that crate is generated randomly. Hence, I am very glad that I got the tower shield again so easily.

I've decided to institute a new roleplaying policy of "[censored] the police" so I've been murdering guards on sight in every town I lay eyes on.

Scarlett the Redguard used her fortify enchant rings to enable her to make dozens of enchanted items and thus max Enchant skill. The vacant tower near Dagon Fel is a perfect base for a Mark spell. By levitating just over the lava pool inside the tower, she can soul trap summoned Dremora as they roast without even fighting them. She summons them with a ring, and the process is continuous as she can recharge the ring with the souls for much less than it costs to summon one Dremora and common soul gems can be purchased in unlimited quantities in Tel Branora or Mournhold. The Dremora also have weapons that she can sell. The same technique works with Golden Saints.

An Almsivi Intervention puts her in the Temple in Ald’Ruhn. From there, she can buy hammers to improve her armorer skill and comberries from the Mage’s Guild. The comberries go with the many Daedra hearts she acquires for restore magicka potions.
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Vacant_Tower

Last night, she made it to 37th level. She had enchanted several expensive rings with “Damage armor 52 points on self”, which allow her to then practice Armorer skill repairing it. So once a game day, she improves Armorer 5 levels and casts spells to improve Mysticism 5 as well. This gives her 3 points for willpower and strength with one point for luck when she levels up. The Orc Barbarian in the tower is even kind enough to let Scarlett “rest in his bedroll”, so she left him a Daedric Battleaxe and an Ebony tower shield that she had enchanted to show her gratitude.

I died.

I died very, very painfully.

Apparently, I forgot to reset the controls for scrolling through spells and enchanted items, as I now have a mouse. And so, while I was fighting this rat, instead of a fireball, I burn up three scrolls. One of which was my Scroll of Icarian Flight.

... yeah. I -jump- a lot in battle... and I didn't know I'd cast it... so...

... whoops. >.<

I'm being named Hortator. I hate these quests. I'm level 40, I don't need to run all over the place. It just seems like a waste of time. :banghead:

I was inspired with the strange compulsion to throw a copy of N'Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis! into the water out of sheer superstition.
Nevermind, it's probably a private joke.

I met Trebonius Artorius in the Vivec Arena to challenge him for the title of Arch Mage of the Mages Guild, but because I was wearing King Helseth's royal signet rig I literally didn't have to lift a finger. He cast two lightning spells, both of which reflected back on him and killed him in less then thirty seconds. Easiest victory ever.

After some fiddling I finally managed to fix my buggy MW, and started with a new character. So my new Imperial Diplomat has cleared the mine outside Seyda Neen, joined the Fighters Guild in Balmora, and fixed the cave rat problem. Now she's trying to get that great sword in one of those guard towers in Balmora, but to no luck so far.

I'm seeking out the ash Vampires before my final assault. I've never actually collected all of the "heart" artifacts, and I'll probably never use them either, I just want to look at them. I also realized that The Masque of Clavicus Vile is the best Helm in the game. It has an armor rating of 80, which is the same as the best Daedric Helmets. I picked up this helm early on in my game and have been wearing it since about level 10.

I really did that Z.Man. I usually collect one of every book that I can in the game....I just so happened to have two. Esperanto...Hmmmph!
The Masque of Clavicus Vile is a good helm, but I rarely wear it. I might go trading with it on every once in a while, but it looks good on display.
