What did your Character do today?

Post » Mon Aug 23, 2010 4:48 pm

i took the road from cheydriahl (spelling??) to the IC:

(using a mod that adds more travellers to the roads)
some random ran at me. so i started talking to her, she didn't have much to say so i stopped talking to her. as she started walking away i noticed she had 3 arrows in her waist.
i continue down the road and see some more travellers running away and a 3rd one comes at me and attacks me. i notice he has some arrows in him too.
after killing him i find heaps of blood all over. and then i spot a little fight going on at the bottom of the road. to guys from a armor mod that u had to rescue were fighting a bandit leader.
when i got there they where both dead and the bandit leader had been killed by another "traveller"
what had happened:
the travelers mod had added a HEAP of travellers and other people to the road, and the armor mod had a mini quest where u had to save these 2 guys from a pack of bandits. so something happened and the bandits had started attacking the travellers, while most ran some thought back and won, then the last one managed to kill the 2 people i was supposed too save, and then got owned by another traveller. i guess i was hanging around at the right time.

The Journeys of Camarilla continues as well:

Having just escaped the Imperial City dungeons without a coin to my name, the first thought that ran through my head was to run back to the family farm for some much needed comfort. It's only a few weeks northwest, on the border of High Rock and Hammerfell. "No, I'm not running back to a life of farm work and kids with my tail stuck between my legs just to be married off to some fat farmer. I'm only 19 and I set out for a better life, and while it forced me to steal to stay alive, I've been given a second chance. I have the King's Amulet and I need to learn to protect it and myself. But first I need some gold. Without gold I'm going nowhere, and I already have this nice armor and weaponry I took off of the goblins in the sewers. It does smell, though."

With a plan in mind, Camarilla set out to investigate the immediate surroundings of Imperial City. After spending almost two weeks sleeping in the wild, fighting bandits and other critters hiding in the ruins and caves, I have finally made enough gold to properly equip myself and even have some to spare. I have some belongings too. Too much to carry around. I heard from some of the locals that there's a shack for sale on the Waterfront, so I went down to take a look at it, and while it's not much, it'll serve it's purpose. It's right on the shores of Lake Rumare too, perfect for some skinny dipping at nighttime. I went and saw the lady at the office of commerce about buying the shack:

"Hi, I'm interested in buying that little ramshackle shack on the Waterfront."
"I don't trust you."
"What? Is it not for sale?"
"Yes, but I don't trust you."
"Oh...ok. Well, let me just tell you this joke so we can get to know each other. And by the way, that's a lovely hair style you have there."
"Really?! That's so funny! And thanks girlfriend, I dig your hair too! Ok, so the shack is 2,000 gold."
"2,000??! That's way too much!"
"I know, but someone will eventually show up and be dumb enough to buy it...."
"....Alright, I'll take."
"Great, here's the key!"
"Thanks, you should come visit sometime."
"Aaahhh....yeah....I'm going to be busy for a while..."
"Ok, bye then!"

While I was back to where I started financially, I still left with a great feeling of finally having a place of my own. It makes me feel like at least I belong somewhere now. I shall call it...Castle Camarilla.

Finally having a base, I need to start honing my skills in combat and magic. I can't meet this Jauffre guy looking and acting like a lost blond farm girl. The Arena will be my next stop. I can both make some coin and also work on my fighting techniques. I have a feeling I might need it soon too. One of the guys who hangs around on the Waterfront has been making approaches, and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who takes no for an answer.

Martine stepped out of the Leyawiin Mages' Guild, and walked toward the West Gate. Raining again. Never a nice day in Leyawiin.

She felt good for the moment. Something had gone right for a change. Dagail was going to be all right now. The trinket had not been easy to retrieve, but the change that had come over the old Bosmer battlemage when Martine handed it over... It was moments like this that kept Martine going.

She looked down at her sack-cloth garments, which were already soaking through to her skin. That Sheogorath! What had she done to be the butt of this foolish daedric prank?

It had seemed a dream only, when the silly little man in the fancy suit had appeared to her, in her prison cell. "You, my little sweetcake," he had said, "are about to embark on a marvelous journey. You're going to do me a really big favor, as it happens." And then he laughed, a little too long and a little too loud. "And it won't cost you at all. Well not very much, anyway."

"I'm busting you out of this place. And you're going to come and pay me a visit, and do me a little favor. Oh, yes. You will." And then he vanished, and his laughing echoed behind, and rattled down the torch-lit corridor outside her cell. And it all went dark for a while.

When she awoke, she was in a different cell, across from an insolent dunmer, and was soon caught up in Imperial events...

The strangest thing, though... All during her escape from prison, and ever after, she found that she could not wear any new clothing, or wield any weapon, which had not been a gift. So busy was she, struggling to survive, that it had taken her the longest time to put it together: This was Sheogorath's little way of making sure that eventually she would come to him, come through that silly portal on that ridiculous floating island, and do his bidding. This was his curse on her: She could not equip any object not freely given to her.

She patted the katana that hung by her side, a gift from Jauffre on her joining the Blades. "Well, dear Sheogorath. We will see. It may be a very long wait." She passed through the gate, saluted the guard who stood there, and started walking towards Bravil.

Well, first, my high elf http://i356.photobucket.com/albums/oo9/TLACharries/Oblivion2010-10-0823-19-14-19.jpg (his name means 'truth walker, guild of the bow') awoke at the exit of the sewers, after a strange dream in which he was a Nord named http://i356.photobucket.com/albums/oo9/TLACharries/ScreenShot3copy.jpg. Hm.

Yes, saving right before you exit the sewers is a godsend when you want a new character but don't feel like going through the tutorial again. ;)

My character died a permanent death: after installing an aesthetics mod that required another mod which needed another one (and so on....) to work, I kept receiving error messages and CTD.

so I uninstalled everything, reinstalled just the game with basic stuff - SI patch , the UOP, OBSE, OOO and Skip Tutorial... only to be unable to even create a character.

SO, I gave up wasting time. This is how the Shadow Assassin Haydée "Hand of Night" died.

I've given in and used the console to supply Angel with a spell that includes 'Drain Attribute'. She calmed down immediately but was still a little testy when she reminded me that, after all, she IS a Mage.

With her new spell, she has created an enchanted bow. The first two attempts proved to be utter failures in field tests and had to be tossed away but the third time was a charm. She named her bow 'Buffy' after a legendary hero she hopes to meet some day. She spent an entire day at the archery range behind the Chorrol Fighters Guild hall, testing her bow and learning how much elevation to use at different distances. When it got too dark to continue, she retired to Arborwatch a very tired but contented girl.

Let's see here... My Khajiit helped Kud-Ei recover a mage's lost staff, cleared Heronimus Lex's goons out of the Waterfront district, and stole almost everything of value from the dining room and main hall of Castle Bravil, in response to the lord's rude attitude to his kind. Well, that, and he had some nice expensive stuff :)

Today, my humble Derry spent a relatively foggy morning by first getting acquainted with Prior Maborel's horse in an early morning ride, and then brushing up on his archery skills out behind the Chorrol Fighters Guild. It was here he witnessed a most interesting sight: it would appear that for all Honditar's talk of being a true-to-the-Nine forester and hunter, he's a pretty lousy shot. There was also a shirtless Orc nearby who couldn't seem to wrap his mind around how you were supposed to shoot one of those strange curvy wooden things with strings (every time he shot, he let go of the bow as well as the string).

After practice, Derry decided to see if the local Mages Guild chapter might have any jobs available, and ended up being sent on a lengthy hike through the Cloudtop Mountains in search of a certain book, which he obtained with little difficulty other than being accosted by a Conjurer on his way back to Chorrol. The morning fog cleared up as he neared the city and returned to the Mages Guild to hand the book over. It seems he's not the only Bosmer here to have risked the wrath of Earana now.... He probably won't be staying in Chorrol for much longer.

Anna scratched the back of her spine, that hard to reach itchy part that only her tail could get to, gazing off and thinking about the last few days was becoming such a fog.

Escorting that hateful berk.
Not being able to understand his words but getting the gist of the wrathful feeling towards her with the icy blasts of magic he flung during combat, and the scornful look on his face.
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g376/Indep/Oblivion2010-10-1212-18-11-56.jpg

The treachery in the sewers, the place that felt most comfortable to her, like the rat runs of the hive back home in sigil, as the hardhead she was sent to help turned on her during the fight..
Leading her to roll and flip off a ledge, running, running untill hidden in the dark filth that concealed all traces.

Finding out that there may be some way home, that the Xaosect barmies that had been in the cage she started her journy from had access to gates and portals.
Performing a sacriface to gain their Tanarii lords trust only to find it squanderd on false hope, and yet more ducking and diving out to freedom.

Turning up back at the temple to find out the hardhead had returned before her, and betrayed her again, claiming himself the hero, her the demonic filth.
More was to come, battles after battles, foes on all sides, no friends just treacherous stags, new fiendish lords http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g376/Indep/Oblivion2010-10-1015-30-05-25.jpg.
Only in caves, and tunnels was she to find peace, shadow born, and lithe of form even deaders could not hear her whispers.

Finally the goal she sought a planar portal to lead back to her kip... http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g376/Indep/Oblivion2010-10-1213-31-48-31.jpg but no luck, it still led back to this hated cage born from nightmares, having served her "friends" goal to power once more.

Standing here, in a new home surrounded by people she could at least relate to if not really trust being the overlooked and cast off.
One thing cycled around her brain... "home and vengence" http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g376/Indep/Oblivion2010-10-0902-11-41-32.jpg

Today Claire (Breton) wandered around Bravil for a bit, bought some illusion spells, befriended Ungarion, and fell into the stream. Then she journeyed to Fort Cuptor and proceeded to get pwned by various undead and necromancers. She is still there. On the bright side, she found a necklace of reflect spell!

Where do you buy actual spells? I've only been able to buy scrolls, which I never use.

[Breton:Level 14:Mage:Swordsman:Theif:Assassin] Name: Arkmarr

Today I went deer hunting in the Great Forest, stumbling across the odd Imp and Minotaur along the way. I then found 'Sinkhole Cave' and adventured through it in an entirely stealthy fashion. Armed with an Elven Bow and some truly remarkable spells, every Bandit I came across fell to the ground. Then the looting began, after becoming a victim of a vicious Log Trap.
I then travelled to Bruma to investigate a crime scene; first reaction was that the deceased (a presumed vampire) was killed by a Dunmer - A justified murder? - Further investigation proves that it definately wasn't.
After completing the psychologically-rewarding investigation, I travelled through a beautiful Ayleid ruin (the name of which escapes me), picking up valuable ancient artefacts along the way. The Boss of the Ayleid ruin put up a decent fight, but obviously his life ended up displaced.

* * * A snip from Chapter 30 of Buffy's Journal * * *
"Well, Buffy, I will proudly wield Volendrung, and remember your kindness with every skull it crushes."

I forced a crooked smile.

"Sit with me." Shobob lead me to a bench under the shrine's shadow. "Every hopeful follower of Malacath strives to gain the favor of our Lord. I earned his blessing many years ago. My task was to help a young orc escape nearby Fort Crowhaven. She was a simple servant, and heavy with child at the time. Malacath did not take kindly to her being seduced by the Imperial noble that she worked for. Only some sort of foul magic could make a fine orcish woman lower herself to consort with a human."

He jerked a large thumb towards Mug and Ghorub. "These two lugs remain unblessed. They failed on more than one attempt to even locate where Drad kept the ogres. Tell me, Buffy, how did you do it?"

"Well," I began, "Lord Drad was pretty evasive, but the lady of the manor seemed quite anxious to sit and enjoy some girl talk over tea, strawberries and sweetrolls. Lady Drad told me of the hidden mine and even revealed where she and Lord Drad kept a key. Frankly, I don't think she liked the idea of enslaving ogres at all." I grinned slyly. "After dark, I slipped back into their estate and pinched the key."

Shobob glanced at the sulking Mug and Ghorub, and chuckled. "Well I guess that explains why those two didn't get very far. Perhaps Malacath realized this job called for a woman's touch." He then looked down at me appraisingly. "You're one third our size. Did you not encounter any of Drad's guards?"

"Not until I actually entered the mine," I replied. "Then, oh my yes! I know some illusion magic though, so I was able to convince them that they were the intruders, not me. See, one nice thing about being small is that I could cast my spell, then hide in a crevice between some rocks. I had to repeat that a couple times until only one wounded guard remained."

Shobob let both raised eyebrows ask his next question.

I glanced over my shoulder at Slayer in response.

The orc nodded his understanding, then a sparkle animated his eyes as he broke the brief silence. "Tell me about the ogres, Buffy."

"I used one of the guard's keys to open the holding cells and free them. Those were the first ogres I ever saw, Shobob, but I will never forget them. They're beautiful. Ogres are majestic, gray, gentle giants. I agree with Malacath - they should be free. Why, when I left, they were teaching the Drads how to farm."

Gregreo and his wife, Levola, finished plundering Bruma Caverns. He used his "heal others" spell more than he did any fighting, though. His other companion caught up with them (A Knight of the Nine who is that high elf from the Chorrol chapel, another Mage Companion named Alred, and Adorna (What they call Adoring Fan)) and helped them immensely.

Sadly, Adorna died distracting a few of the baddies. :( A service was held just outside the cavern.

Then they went to Bruma, bought more healing potions and continued. They're searching for an ancient, holy sword (that I enchanted and hid in a cavern earlier).

What happens if Levola gets killed? Simple, I just reload. I have no plans of her dying. Even if her mage self respawns back in the Arcane University.

I wanted to roleplay that they have a child, but...not sure how to go about that since there aren't any kids in Oblivion.

They all live in his Skingrad home. Gregreo and his wife sleep in the main bedroom. Adorna slept in a cot in the basemant with the maid. Alred and her KOTN boyfriend sleep in...ah...how do you describe it, Alred?

"My sweetheart and I took two cots and I used magika to combine them so we sleep soundly together on the second floor."

Thanks, Alred.

"Think we should take Gregreo to where his parents are buried in Bravil?"

Yeah, he should face that painful memory. Don't tell him, but that sword you're looking for belonged to his dad.

"And what if we were to meet the person who killed his parents?"

Let Gregreo deal with it alone.

Anna is going to find herself back in goal today due to a mutant bug that has excluded her from Bruma permently, that was not fixed by reinstallation...
So its tme she doned her raggady jerkin, trimmed her hair, cused the planes down and headed out to see if this time things could go well this time.

Today was not an Auspicious day for Thanlen. Since he took his first step off the boat in Anvil, it has been storming, and he has been huddled up in the Flowing Bowl around a warm flagon of Rotmeth. The weather has been far to wet, and far to dangerous to explore new lands.

I would take a picture of Gregreo, but don't have a camera to do it. This is how he looks like

1) Start a new character.
2) Imperial Male
3) Slide age bar far left so he's very young.
4) Slide complexion bar far right so he looks like he's in his teens.
5) Lighten skin just a hair.
6) Go to the blush/pale bar and slide it to far left.

Voila! There's Gregreo! =D

Alrighty, The Rain let up IG (funny, it's been storming like that at home too) and My Bosmer got to go out and do something. Just not what he expected to be doing.

Day 1 (Need Oblivion Date)

Blasted rain, I spent all day cooped up in a dive, sipping on cold, COLD! Rotmeth waiting for it to clear up. Nothing to do, and there is something...off about the brothers who run this place. They seem a bit too friendly, if you ask me. I though I was going to have a little fun when that imperial woman walked in and propositioned me. I showed up, of course. harlets tried to rob me, but I got the better of them, and grabbed what I could carry from their brothel. I reported it too, apparently there was a bounty on these women. I suppose the day wasnt a total bust, after pawning off my swag and collecting the bounty.
