What difficulty settings do you play with?

Post » Fri Dec 02, 2011 5:40 am

Playing at expert.
Problem is, I have no chance to kill a dragon. I killed the first one (from the Main Quest). But I've ran into a few others later. And there is no way I can kill them. Maybe if I stock up on tens or hunderds of health potions. They kill me from the air mostly. And when they do come down, a few hits will finish me off.

I'm level 12. Dual-wielding swords. Light armor (elven). Not using bows or magic (except for a little restoration). 2 perks in light armor, the rest in one-handed. Not been to the Greybeards yet. I have only 1 shout. Not using companions.

No idea how I can get them down and stay down. Their melee hits hard. Their fire-breath is devastating. So for now, when I see one, I run away. Hopefully when I level up, the dragons won't level up faster. The only solution I can think of is to get lots of potions, scrolls with Atronarchs. And maybe bring a companion. But as a pure swordfighter, it looks like a lost battle.

Adept, since is hard :D. Some bandits or skeletons might be easy but try something more - like a dragon for example. F9 all the time...

Playing on Expert atm, got bored of my Wood Elf Ranger slaughtering unsuspecting bandits with one arrow, plus since I have my lovely companion it makes things more challenging! At times she is so powerful that by the time I have caught up with the battle after sitting at range with my bow, that they are already dead before I can get within sword range! Expert is a good challenge it makes you use your skills wisely and those hordes of potions you have never had to use!

Expert for the most part, until I see a dragon then it goes down to adept/apprentice. Depending on my health regen.

I started on the default of Adept. Around level 20 I upped it to Expert and about 5 hours after that just said, okay, Master time and have since left it at that. So 25 on regular/Expert and 25 hours on Master. I like Master more, although most mobs you don't notice much of a difference. Generally spell casters can pack some major heat if they are high level or named.

In my next thief play through I'll start on Master from the get go. But even in that, I can't wait for some player mods to add realisim and more accurate level scaling.

I'm currently playing on apprentice just to get a feel for the game. I will move up levels with subsequent playthroughs.

Adept.

It's bloody hard, I can't imagine trying to play any higher than that.

Pansy. :)

As for me. Expert. Yeah, I get my a## handed to me on occasion. I had to turn away from Orphan Rock ATM because I died in double digits. But that is the challenge, and I plan to go back after a couple of more levels.

In the words of the Terminator: I'll be back.

I always play the middle difficulty, because on one hand I would feel like I'm wimping out by lowering the difficulty, but one the other, I would never willingly press a button that makes enemies take longer to die. I loathe kiting based combat.

I switched from expert to master today. But I am not satisfied because a lot of things still a not challenging at all, but the other are way to powerful.

I defeated Alduin on Master difficulty Monday night. I had loads of fun and a few aggravating parts to say the least, but I had fun none the less.

Restarted again with Master difficulty , feels about right there are things you are ment to run away from but now im lvl 32 again and its starting to get too easy.

But not as easy as expert was where i could just 1-3 hit anything, i killed a dragon in a few hits with my 500 ish armor and 100 crafter using all ebon armor. <_< (orc 2 hander is sorta overpowered)

My game defaulted to Master difficulty from the beginning, so I happily played with that for a good few hours until a slightly stronger skeleton killed me in a single hit... >.>
Adept now...
Master for second play through :)

Yeah, on early game stages tougher enemies pretty often one-shoted me with dual-handed weapons.
