I always play rpgs at max difficulty cuz almost always the progression mechanics are meaningless if the game doesnt offer the highest chalenges for you to use your new stuff on.
whats the point of having that next perk/spell that doubles your damage output if you were already 1-2 shotting stuff, or whats the point of that next armor if you were already shrugging off everything thrown at you, you know what I mean?

Adept.

It's bloody hard, I can't imagine trying to play any higher than that.

Just started a defense warrior on master, it's incredibly hard and incredibly fun. Playing the game from a whole new prospective.

I only got the game yesterday, so I played a few hours last night. After I was wondering around for an hour or so I went into the options screen and noticed my difficulty was set to Master. If I chose that setting at some point I really don''t remember. I assumed that was the default setting as I hadn't changed it although I was surprised it initially had been set so high.

I got killed once in the opening dungeon, caused more than anything by me not really knowing who was an enemy and who wasn't. I'm also playing as a high elf mage and only wearing the apprentice cloak and hood, so when someone got within striking distance of me I died in 3 blows max.

I have managed to complete the Golden Claw quest no problems, so I thought I was doing ok on Master settings, but I'll probably turn down the difficulty to 'normal' tonight before I play. To avoid unnecessary frustration.

Is there any benefit to playing on Master or is it just enemy HP's ?

They just do much more damage and have higher health bars, in the long run you will level faster because of it, but there isn't anymore reward than the fact you're playing the game on master.

A mix between Adept and expert but mostly adept.

Playing most games on hard.Middle is for pussies.

Just turned it up a notch from Expert to Master, I might come to regret that soon enough and shamefully switch back..

Yes, I'm challenge freak. :sadvaultboy:

Big surprise!

Bethesda once again goes with a pointless difficulty scheme. Damage dealt, damage revived and that's it. No other part of the game seems effected by difficulty setting.

That's a tough one. Levelling up and get more powerful quicker is good, but I don't anticipate with the content available I'm ever going to be short of stuff to do and I don't want to peak to early to maintain a challenge for as long as possible.

I might turn it down to expert until I'm 100% comfortable with my character and the game mechanics, then go back to master.

Much more satisfying to play on expert as its not too difficult but you still really have to play to your characters strengths. I decided to up mine from adept after killing a dragon real quick with my bow and thought "that wasnt as epic as id hoped" (it was probably just a particularly weak dragon) now the fights are much more fun!

You won't know Skyrim until you switch to Master.
It makes you think twice, and use all resources. Spend enormous amounts of money to buy powerful scrolls (for nonmage as me) and rare ingredients.

Started on adept and quickly bumped it up to expert when i noticed just how easy it is to kill most enemies.

I was tempted to bump up to master but i'll save that for my second play through.
