Default at first. No point changing anything until I know how hard the game is. Since the difficulty slider just affects damage taken and done its a fairly crude way of adjusting difficulty. If the games too easy for me I'll probably adjust the difficulty using mods.
Default at first, then we'll see how that works out. If there is a hardcoe mode, I'll probably use that on later playthroughs, but default for the first one anyway.
I'll try the default difficulty, and if I find it too easy I'll increase it. I'm going to roleplay instead of powerplay so I don't think I have to increase the difficulty much.
Going to use mods to make it more difficult than simply sliding it to the right. All that does to make it more "difficult" is give enemies more HP which is [censored].
Arwen will probably take care of the difficulty problem quickly.
Same. As my PC can handle it I'll likely install a mod that gives tons more enemies (+more clever AI if possible) instead of just having few morons with tons more health.
Would be sad if the difficulty slider just adjust HP. But I suppose it's pretty hard to make a complex difficulty option...imagine if difficulty also covers AI behaviour. This would need adjustments for every creature/enemy, how fast they attack, their skill etc... Don't know how much time is needed to spend on a complex system.
I didn't choose any option. As there won't be heavy level-scaling, I start with default and increase difficulty pretty quickly. Similar like I did in Fallout 3. I imagine both gameswill be equivalent in regards of difficulty. Though I would enjoy anything new & surprising from ES V.
Default at first. I'm assuming they'll be using the slider bar for difficulty (they did in Morrowind/Oblivion) so i'll just up the ante if I feel it's too easy.
Easy Mode - Enemies do less damage and have no perks
Normal Mode - Enemies do normal damage and have a few perks
Hard Mode - Enemies do more damage and have alot of perks
Based on what the perks are, I think this could be a great way to increase difficulty without making the enemies bullet sponges (or in this case, arrow sponges)
I'll just start it on normal, and if I feel the need to change it down, either because it's a difficult game or because the level scaling is terrible again then I will do so, I doubt I'll be changing it up though, I play more for the fun of playing than for the actual challenge.
I usually play on Normal, but if the dragons seem to easy, which I do worry, I'll raise the bar a bit. I want every dragon I kill to feel like a massive triumph, not just like some annoying Cliff Racer just bothering you.
In this context I'd be on the hard right. I'd also want mods for disabling autotravel, decreasing the rate of xp gain, removing the clairvoyance spell, hiding the player position on world map, and hiding the enemy health bar.
I'll be leaving it at normal for my first playthrough. If it's too easy I will adjust it up. I just hope they've changed how they do difficulty, and it doesn't just increase the enemies health, but rather improves their fighting abilities and skills and spells, while keeping health the same.
Normal difficulty with a "survival/hardcoe" mode enabled if possible. Otherwise probably try it on hardest difficulty if thats the only way to play with the survival stuff active.
I really need to see what the default difficulty is like first.
What I want from this game is for some areas to be easy and others to be really dangerous and hard right from the start of the game. I also want dragons to be incredibly difficult to overcome early on. I really shouldn't need to up the game's difficulty to get this experience.
