What DLC would you like to see......?

Post » Tue Sep 07, 2010 3:52 pm

After learning as much as I have about Skyrim, I couldn't help but wonder about the DLC Bethesda has planned for it. What about anyone else?
I, personally, have thought how cool it would be to recreate Cyrodiil in the new engine and provide a bunch of new quests within it. Never gonna happen, I know, but I can dream!!

Why won't it happen and how is that in any way related to DRM?

D'oh! Sorry, I meant DLC!
Been dealing with DRM all morning on a PC game, got those three letters etched in my tiny brain!

Haha, fair enough.

I'm sure someone will mod it in even if it's not a DLC.

Not sure what type of DLC I'd like, we'll have to wait and see! They seem to be going the way of Fallout in that the release 5 or so fairly big ones. Not sure how they will manage this though, as all the provinces in Tamriel are roughly the size of Skyrim anyway, so that's like a whole new game . . .

What ever it is, I'm sure it will be awesome.

I assume UzelessUK means DLC (not DRM).
And I doubt there would be an official DLC using Cyrodiil, since the place was used just in the previous TES episode. However I can as possibility revisiting one of the Oblivion famous village to enjoy how it has changed and perform some new quests in a small DLC.

Edit: I've been "snaked" by the posts above while replying :P

... Unfortuantly, gamesas said that they're no longer doing expansion packs.

But then again, I see the FO3 DLCs more of mini-expansion packs than DLCs (same with Oblivion's KOTN.) So, I'm hoping we're getting that level of DLC. But, in better quality, however. NO MORE :swear: MOTHERSHIP ZETA/NEW VEGAS BUG FIASCOS!

What's wrong with DLCs AND Expansion packs?

Or release all the DLCs as an expansion pack.

But as DLCs I would like to have them the same quality the Fallout DLCs had (I was probably amongst the very few who actually liked all of them).

I think Todd mentioned in the Gameinformer podcast that they weren't really satisfied with the level of quality/ development time of big expanions such as Shivering Isles and would focus more on Knights of the Nine style DLC.

Probably something like The Pitt. Like getting arrested and sent to some random place and gather supplies on your way, getting ready to fight your way out. Something along those lines. Just, no Mother**** Zeta. 17 hours of killing aliens randomly gets boring. Maybe a Tribunal type expansion, adding quests a certain faction. Except they'd have to do that for each faction...

Woah woah woah, The Shivering Isles was amazing, Knights of the Nine looks like something on the bottom of my shoe compared to the Isles. They certainly charged enough money for the Isles, and it was popular enough.

Hopefully there will be no DLC, and we'll get real expansion packs.

I'd like to go back Morrowind,to either Vvardenfell (to see how the Dunmer/Empire are rebuilding there) or the mainland to see if the argonians are enslaving Dunmer and conquering Morrowind or not.I'd imagine the storyline would be something along the lines of you go there with a bunch of fanatic Nords who believe Morrowind is rightfully theirs but you end up fighting for the Dunmer/whoever occupies Morrowind.

Edit : I also loved the Shivering Isles, but I also like DLC similar to that of Fallout 3's.Maybe there would be DLC similar to the Knights of the Nine first, and then Bethesda would finish with a badass expansion?

How about we wait until Skyrim is even remotely close to release yet before we start talking about expansions..?

I want DLC like the Wizard's Tower and the Pirates' Den - DLC that lets me have a themed home for my already-established character and offers everything that character needs all in one place.

What does that mean? Remember how the Wizard's Tower had most of the alchemy ingredients, alters, and even a great view of world (perfect for practicing spells)? Remember how the Pirates' Den had a lock you could continually pick over and over again to build up your lockpick level? I love DLC like that.

Give me an extravagant place to call my own and put items related to its skills all under one roof. Yeah, having everything right in front of you is almost like cheating, but I view it as a reward for having spent so many hours in the game already. (Plus making furniture expensive makes the player work for all its trappings.)

My first DLC priority is DLC that lets me enjoy the existing game more rather than some six hour pseudo-expansion.

Nord Armor

"The world of Skyrim is full of witches. Protect your Nord with this beautiful piece of armor."

I'd prefer to have no DLC but expansion packs instead. But expansion packs cost more to do and take longer production times, so we'll have DLCs instead. As long as they're long enough and filled with enough content I'm fine. (No houses please!)

Wheres the fun in that?

And I don't really like house DLC.Sure, the ones in Oblivion were pretty cool and there were a few quests associated with them, but after a while the novelty wears off, unlike beating people up in crusaders armor after the Knights of the Nine DLC.I think house DLC should be left to modders really.Imo,houses are quite pointless unless you can collect something and put it on a stand there (think Bobbleheads) or they offer some bonus which is better than simply Well Rested, maybe it would help somehow if Skyrim had a hardcoe mode?

I agree I'm just saying what i remember. I did enjoy Shivering Isles more than KotN (although that was because I hated having to keep my infamy at 0) and would love to see more similar stuff as long as it wasn't pandering to the fans and would introduce actually new elements to the game as SI did.

Horse armor and such should be in the game to begin with.

First, they shouldn't be planning DLC before release (or at least until it has "gone gold").

Second, I favor expansion packs over DLC so much that I wouldn't be able to describe it here.

Now, if we do end up with DLC, what I want the most is DLC that includes a lot of new resources to work with for mods. Oh and ugh.. quests and stuff.

If there's an expansion I want it to be the province of High Rock and a new questline/side quests.
