Abbey of the Road DLC please.
I'd like to go full Canticle for Lebowitz.
More so because New York is one of the most overused and unoriginal settings in all forms of media. I find there is far more potential in creating something interesting that can be found in other settings that can add to the universe.
For me, the take on the Pitt was one of them. And to see something else involving the raiders of the Pitt I would be all for. Besides that, we're about due in finally exploring the annexed Canada in the Fallout universe with seeing the likes of Ronto.
Some people have been asking for a more survival eque playstyle... Depending on how far north we go... Possibly that could be incorporated there?
Fighting not just enemies and radiation, but cold and starvation as well.
...
Wasteland/survivalist thing, tho personally I'd be loathe to completely give up the settlement aspect. It should just be much rarer.
I don't really want to go back to DC, but I would like to see an explanation on what happened to Elder Lyons and Sentinel Sarah Lyons in some form or another.
My favorite DLC was always Operation Anchorage, so I could totally go for a throwback DLC, maybe the history of Vault-Tec or something.
definitely something underwater, i love underwater stuff! it's scary and thrilling in great ways when done well, not to mention underwater aesthetics usually look amazing (or unsettling, either way, awesome). i would say a continuation of the Cabot stuff but that might be difficult to do well and eldritch precursors might end up as out of place as mothership zeta
I hope it's more aliens, so NMA can have another aneurysm.
I like to see BOS DLC where Sarah Lyon who was presumed dead comes back to challenge BOS or remanted BOS and bring back Lyon faction domination. You can choose help her or side with current faction.
I would like to see the come back of Sarah lyon. I know i know they say she is dead on the BoS airship but its very vague and very open ended to be used again just like in Fo NV with gram. mainly because the game needs more connections to its previous versions like we had with Harold the tree. sorry don't know his name very well. She could comeback as a minor faction in another map where she is fighting Maxons side and we can call it Broken steel because of the friction of the 2 sides. She would be cool to bring back in because she was a very well put together character that would only strengthen the game plus she can bring more stories from the capital wasteland about the lone wanderer and more. i would also like her as a companion since there seems to me a lack of female human companions. it just seems to me she was killed off for the rise of maxon. it just seems kinda wrong to just kill off a good character like her kind of a waste if you ask me to just write her off without much of a fight. there is room if Bethesda will take it.
Another idea is an under water vault i have been swimming in the sea off of boston and using the layers between service and underwater kinda a glitch if you call it you can see what is underwater. i can spot a few ships and aircraft but nothing else special. it would be cool to add something water related since the ocean fills up 2 or 3 10ths of the map adds more value than those stupid rafts with nothing on them its very disappointing once to scout them all out. Vault tech had almost unlimited spending why don't we rule in favor of a underwater vault built into the sea floor even if its unrealistic.
I've been thinking of the aspects of Skyrim I would like to see emulated in FO4, and I keep coming back to the main story line and the difference between being able to make a unique character from whole cloth vs. just being able to change the face and gender of a static personae. It was great in Skyrim that you could create any type of character of any race and backround and have the dragonborn fate apply to them. It gave the player a wonderful feeling of agency and attachment to their character. Something similarly open could work just as well for Fallout I think. I understand that Fallout has always had a more specific narrative structure than the elder scrolls, but this would be a DLC with a more open ended idea for the story that can accommodate any type of wasteland denizen. I am thinking how amazing it would be to create a character of any type you would find in the wasteland, including the differing types of human, ghoul, mutant and synth, and the changed perspective it each type would have:
Human: vault dweller
Human: Raider
Human: Wastelander
Synth: Prototype
Synth: Advanced model
Synth: Passes for human
Super mutant: Friendly to humanity
Super mutant: Hostile
Super mutant: Partial mutation
Ghoul: Accepted
Ghoul: outcast
This would of course be impossible to have voice acting for the main character, which it seems bethesda is really interested in, but would be a more unique playing experience and give players an ability to see the Fallout world from a differing perspective. Ideally the choice of origin for the character would influence how the world reacts to them, how situations play out, and who is willing to follow the player. It would require a more complex community dynamic and faction system, and could perhaps link nicely with a more advanced mechanic for the settlements. I am thinking of something along the lines of AI settlements that build themselves and you have to compete with them with the community you create for resources if you so choose.
Additionally it would make sense that each type of character would have limitations and abilities from the start linked to the nature of their origin. Example: A vault dweller human would have an easier time dealing with technology with bonuses to science and intelligence from the beginning as well as a more advanced cache of materials from the start, where a raider human would have more primitive starting gear but a better ability to survive in the wasteland and scrounge for materials, as well as crafting crude weapons and armor on the fly. Ghouls would have radiation resistance and other benefits and regenerative abilities, ect.
I realize this would be a different game in the same world but I believe the end game of the core FO4 game will get rather repetitive, and at a certain point the option of creating a different personae with a different flavor of play and interaction with the world would be very interesting. I love FO4 with its flaws and all, but its obvious there is so much potential for added mechanics and ideas.
I realize this was long, thanks.
Also a robotics DLC where you could utilize the Robot expert perk and Intelligence attribute to create bots. They would be costly but at higher levels it would be amazing to have not just a sentry-like bot that helps you in combat but a sort of robo-dog 4 legged thing that is a pack mule, and drones that could scout for you, defend you, etc. There could also be an option to salvage the chassis and base parts from all sorts of fallen bots in the world, and make new hybrids. It could be useful to make something more utilitarian like a farming or patrol drone to buff out positions you need filled in settlements. Programming for tasks could be the limiting factor, with lower skill levels only being able to make simple single-use bots and higher levels of robot expert yielding a more complex machine with multiple functions, even to the point of having true AI and setting it free. It would be an additional crafting dynamic that could get real complex real quickly, but would be an amazing addition to the world.
Now that I think of it, the fact that there is no one I've come across in the game that really understands and complexly utilizes bots is sort of surprising. You'd think they would be one of the first things to repair and have work for you to rebuild the broken world, rather than just shoot at things for you.
Additionally I would love to see placable turrets and traps. It has consistently bummed me out that you cant really make traps yet raiders have booby trapped hideouts everywhere. Being able to set up a trip wire shotgun trap and luring someone into it would be immensely satisfying. Essentially I would enjoy a more classic "Combat Engineer" Capability.
How about the kind of quest that doesn't stick you with journal clutter as soon as you merge from the cave or molested by the courier. Let all DLC be found on postit bill boards so that the player can choose if/when they want to start the questline.
Not a bad idea. Starting new characters in FO3 and New Vegas, getting spammed with DLC info the first few minutes outside in the Wasteland. I think Elder Scrolls has a good approach though, some random event that leads to the DLC/Expansion.
