What does everyone expect?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 6:37 am

There have been threads about what we've seen in the trailer, and what we wish and hope to see in Fallout 4. But what do we expect for them to deliver to us? The Steam store page claims it is Bethesda's most ambitious game yet. Do we think it will live up to that? If there is anything I missed, or any new suggestions post them below.

Aliens, i expect and hope for aliens, not on the scale of MZ, perhaps a scouting team like in NV, they were fun to fight.

What I expect and want are two entirely different things and I would hope Bethesda would be able to make a distinction between the two. I'm hoping against hope that they learned from Obsidian and will make an even better game than Fallout New Vegas, but what I expect is another Skyrim that has been further streamlined and RPG mechanics gutted. I hope Bethesda proves me wrong though!

Nice poll. Hmm... larger map but familiar density. Improved Skyrim character creation. Probably born in a vault but I REALLY hope not. Probably a skill tree with perks. Hopefully gray morality, multiple quest lines, choices affecting outcomes, toned down Radiant quests. Bethesda said this is their most ambitious project yet (marketing words, I know) so I am hoping that translates into the best narrative effort we've seen from Bethesda.

I try not to do too much expecting. Better just to enjoy what's delivered.

I expect it to be a lot like fallout 3 which I don't like but im hoping they at least include iron sights and weapon modification.

Nothing less than absolute perfection. FO:3 grabbed the rpg world by the neck in '08, shook it like a crazed hobo, and turned the dial up to 11. After a small step back by Obsidian with their midly successful yet slightly disappointing follow up, we're finally back on the right track and ready for yet another genre disrupting masterpiece directly from the hands of the storytelling masters themselves. I mean, we're talking BGS here, right? Would you expect anything else?

I expect The Elder Scrolls: Apocalypse 2

Yet again, it will be nothing more than a glorified hiking/marriage/crafting simulator (The Sims, basically) complete with dumb non-responsive and unkillable NPCs, simplified, black-and-white characters and choices, and absolutely no actual 'gameplay' at all with a fresh coat of paint.

It wasn't until I reached the very bottom of the poll that I realized I had been selecting what I wanted and not what I expected. It turns out my entire list can be described with the last entry.

... choices have no effects.

I voted for the video game world map to be bigger than Fallout 3, heck I want the video game world map to be bigger than Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim combined in Fallout 4.

There are rumors saying that the video game world map in Fallout 4 will be 3 times bigger than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I'm hoping that that rumor is 100% reali.

Todd Howard mentioned something along the lines of with focus on new hardware, the atmosphere and scale of the game will be good. Along with things they have wanted to do for awhile but could not due to limitations of last-gen hardware. A world, factions, and npcs that can be affected by the choices you make along with revamped character creation.

Now that they are equipped with current hardware for the first time in almost a decade I expect Fallout 4 is going to redefine Bethesda. We're all going to expect Skyrim: With Guns and they're going to pull a rabbit out of a hat.

I definitely expect them to add some new elements to gameplay and modify existing ones. I think they'll have a way of making features more complex without having them FEEL too complex and overwhelming. Just a bunch of "oh sh*t!" cool features and changes, basically.

Worst case scenario it's cookie-cutter Fallout 3 or New Vegas and I'm still 100% satisfied. lol

I have kept my expectations relatively simple

-Things will be shot

-I will be shot

-Much scrap will be collected

-Turning off the radio will scare the crap out of me within minutes

-The dog is possibly going to die

-Many many moral choices will be made

-There will be many unnecessary utterances of the word f---.

-Nuka Cola

-Boston Baked Beans

-Evil Mutant Pigeons.
