Or absence of one. PC users are getting patch 1.9 beta which includes a Legendary difficulty and the option to take level 100 skills and make them legendary which puts it back at 15 while refunding the perks so it can effect leveling again.
Personally I like the idea of being able to level past 81 but I feel like there should be something you get for your legendary skill, I c ouldnt find much details on that so we will have to wait and see. Now you can max out perks on everything...good luck completionists
It's a complete Don't Care for me.
I just want new adventures that are heavily, heavily story-driven. If there's some new capabilities I can learn along the way, fine. But the story is what matters. I no longer care about levelling, because Skyrim doesn't handle high level characters effectively anyway (my level 81 ranger one-hit the ebony warrior, there was no way to make the fight interesting unless I went to my fists.)
What would be nice if Bethesda changed the levelling in TES6 or FO4 such that it is IMPOSSIBLE to become expert in everything, and even getting above a proficiency of 90 took something really special - completing a very difficult series of quests, or finding a guy who can give special training, or something like that.
Right now, the skill/perk/level/armor/weapons advancements are too generous. I'd dial it back to the point that even a Banded Iron Shield looks like a really cool thing for a guy up to level 35, and steel armor is the most you can realistically hope to have all the way to level 65.
Morrowind had it right - there was only one guy with full daedric armor in the game, and he was practically a God.
