What does Fallout mean to you?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:02 pm

If you had to condense the meaning of Fallout as you see it, play it, love it or hate it down to 5 words, what would you chose?

For me:

  • exploration
  • survival
  • nuclear
  • weird
  • Science!

To me it means extra time I must wait for a TES sequel, but at least F4 looks interesting

'Is'

Fallout.

I'm still bitter about Fallout 4, probably going to be until I see something that actually is positive to me.

And Fallout 4 looks nothing like a Fallout game to me.

Unlike many, for me Fallout is a vision of a society in a post nuclear apocalyptic world

For some reason, many thinks that Fallout is a pseudo Metro 2033.

Several things:

  • Humanity
  • Struggle
  • Rebuilding
  • Post-apocalypse
  • RPG (Not really one word but..)
  • Narrative
  • Dialogue
  • Consequence
  • Choice

People on the forums always ask me why I don't think Fallout 3 is a good Fallout title, despite that I thoroughly enjoyed the game. The above list is what I feel is partly synonymous with Fallout, whereas Fallout 3 [to me] only succeeded half-way with struggle, post-apocalypse and RPG.

Waaat?

Haven't seen you around in years; welcome back... (or have you always been around here, but just off in some other thread?).

If this keeps up, even Mech and MazingerZ might show up.

n. the often radioactive particles stirred up by or resulting from a nuclear explosion and descending through the atmosphere.

And lasers. I do want to set the world on fire, with lasers.

fall路out (f么l鈥瞣ut鈥?
n.
1.
a. The slow descent of minute particles of debris in the atmosphere following an explosion, especially the descent of radioactive debris after a nuclear explosion.
b. The particles that descend in this fashion.
2. An incidental result or side effect: "Other social trends also have psychiatric fallout, and the people who suffer can't afford treatment" (Martha Farnsworth Riche).

Hey that's what it means. As far as the series goes, they're games, fun games. I like the theme and the setting. I'm not gonna be a deep [censored] about it.
