What does a large hazard sign around your character mean?

Post » Wed Jun 09, 2010 11:00 am

This has happened to me twice so far the first time causing me to become locked inside of a building because i did not have a non-existent key. And since i had no previous saves outside the building because i did not notice the large sign i saved in the building which i use as a safe house. I am afraid to keep playing because i have nearly caught up to where i was in levels and do not wish to restart again so if anybody knows what a giant red and white hazard sign floating around your character means please let me know.

Hmm this sounds familiar of what happened when I overloaded Morrowind with mods. The same thing happened.
Are you on pc or something? I can't imagine an overload of mods just in the first few days of release.
If you took a picture of how it looked I would imagine it would look the same it did on me in morrowind.
Hm this is odd I know oblivion took things from morrowind's engine and that fallout 3 took things from oblivion's engine and now fallout NV is practically a carbon copy of fallout 3's engine which means that small piece of morrowind is still there ?

Maybe , but it only happened to me because I had major conflicting mods. OP is there any other problems than just the big sign?

It's how the engine shows a mesh error. Did you get the weathered 10mm pistol and put a mod on it? That causes one.

By "red and white hazard" sign, I'm guessing that you mean a red and white checkered pattern, maybe in the shape of a cube? If so - that indicates either a missing model definition or maybe a missing texture.

(And you keep breaking rule #1 of Bethesda games - make multiple permanent saves, because you never know when you'll have to backtrack to a previous save.)

If this is what you're referring to, this is the way the Bethesda dev's have their debugging setup. This is due to a faulty script in the code somewhere, It has to be patched.
