Post » Sat Mar 22, 2014 7:52 pm

After installing boss,my game it crahes upon logo screen. So I though I might reinstall it,but I don't know what it does.

1- Do I have to reinstall my mods/ ( I thought I did)

2- Will my saves be deleted?

3- Will my mods still work on my old saves if I have to reinstall them?

Has this only started happening AFTER installing BOSS?

*you can put your saves into a separate folder to keep them in you re-install the game

I installed boss, ran it, and now whenever i go to logo screen,I crash to desktop.

And I did backup my saves,I was worried that the re installing of mods might mess them up.

I've reinstalled Skyrim a number of times. I've even changed some mod loads in a minor way. Nothing to do with character models, though. My saves "adjusted" themselves well, with a minor glitch here or there. If you keep the mods the same, I don't see a problem.

I keep a "Clean Install" of Skyrim (copied from my first install (with DLCs) of Skyrim) in a separate folder so I can easily copy and paste it over when I need to reinstall.

I usually go through Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) and uninstall all my mods.

Then I delete the contents (NOT the folder itself) of my Skyrim folder in Steam.

Then I copy my "Clean Install" Skyrim contents to the old Steam Skyrim folder.

Then I open up NMM and reinstall the mods.

I have had very few troubles with this process, though I have had to delete/retire a couple of characters.

I hope that helps

BOSS should not require any reinstalling of Skyrim, and reading the BOSS Log may tell You exactly which Master File for a Mod is missing and causing Your CTD.

Unknown Mods need to be placed manually in Your Load Order. Reading the Readme that BOSS generates when installed is very helpful. The Readme File is also located in Docs inside of where BOSS has been installed on Your PC.

Crashing at Logo is missing master file, post the BOSS list, maybe we can help identify the issue.

Read above also....

Yea BOSS has nothing to do with Skyrim. It may have sorted your load order making a master file lower than a mod that needs it. Possibly unrecognized mods.
