What DOES it take to defeat a heavy?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:53 pm

It takes 1 Wraith operative, 1 ninja medic Devil, and possibly a soldier to take down 5 heavies.

Its like.
"Devil we are out of ammo."
"We still have knives and grenades."
"Oh then we are fine after all."

"MY KNIFE RAN OUT OF AMMO!"
But yes, I think a knife may work well against heavies.

I would most likely use Guerilla Tactics, or just weaken him and run away hoping for someone to finish him off while I go do an objective.
I don't need kills, rather play SMART (See what I did there?) and not get killed.

Wouldn't it svck if you were a Light and got up really high then got incapacitated while up there when the only medics are heavies (Highly unlikely, but still).
Light: Medic! I need a Medic!
All Heavies: We're getting there! We're just in slow motion to make it epic!
Light: *Sigh* :shakehead:

Every medic should be a light medic so he can reach anyone, wherever they're downed. It just makes sense.

As for taking down a heavy... Let's call them "teamwork practice dummies". You guys do your thing with your combo attack, and take down the heavy. I'll happily do whatever's needed to get our objective, so I may have to leave you guys to tackling the heavies.

A Heavy Medic could stick with the team and when someone falls he/she can give them a syringe and protect them as they get up. H0RSE told me he will do this and that explanation has really changed my views on Heavies.

But lights have a shorter power bar, so light medics can't revive or heal as much.

Light Medics will be appreciated to reach other players in hard-to-get-to places (especially Lights and Operatives behind enemy lines), while Medium and Heavy Medics will be more valued on the front line of combat (with Soldiers and Engineers).

In short, there will be a role no matter what size you are.

Actually I heard that SD changed that, and now all body types have the same amount of pips. I might be wrong though, so don't take my word for it.

News to me. I like it. Knowing that, I'm more confident about using a light for a medic. True, heavies can take more damage and stay in longer, but as a light, I can slide in, toss the syringe, parkour out, and on to the next downed ally. I'm going for quantity here, I wanna help everyone I can. If I do die too quickly, I'll adapt and make him a medium.

So, will a grenade automatically take down whomever is in the blast radius, or does it have a set amount of damage? I'm wondering if I need to collaborate a tandem throw with a buddy to down a heavy quickly, or if my own nade is enough for even a buffed heavy.

I would think if they are closer to the blast radius they would be knocked down and have more damage dealt to them. While when they're farther away they won't get knocked down, but dealt damage. Just what I think will happen, again don't take my word for it.

Does one grenade down everyone across the board, or does one grenade only do enough damage to down a medium or buffed light? I guess I'm asking about what is the most grenades it will take to down a buffed heavy?

Don't think of it as "downed" you need a medic...More of, it goes off, you are knocked back on the ground and you get back up and continue fighting

Downed - you can still use your weapons and get up whenever you want.

Incapacitated - you can't shoot (or have an ability to use a pistol only) and need a medic to revive you.
