What DOES it take to defeat a heavy?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 3:24 pm

Does one grenade down everyone across the board, or does one grenade only do enough damage to down a medium or buffed light? I guess I'm asking about what is the most grenades it will take to down a buffed heavy?

Grenades will not kill anyone they will knockdown, more of a area denial weapon.

How long will they knockdown, though? Obviously, I guess it would depend on distance from the grenade.

But does it also depend on the body type and how buffed the characters are?

Like, does a Light get knocked farther (and maybe longer?) than a Heavy would?

Also, there is that word again, what is this "area denial", lol?

Afaik there are only two possible situations: Downed and not downed.

Getting downed means being unable to do anything for a very short time frame - the knockback itself. Afterwards you can either decide to get up - again making you unable to do anything for that time - or stay down to defend yourself.

When you are knocked down you can get up or shoot. We don't know how long knockdowns last.

Wait. I thought you can't shoot if you're down unless you unlocked and "bought" that special ability?
Or, is it only for when you are in the "incapacitated" state when you need a medic?

And I thought I made that understanable enough already ...

Downed - you can still use your weapons and get up whenever you want.

Incapacitated - you can't shoot (or have an ability to use a pistol only) and need a medic to revive you.

Ok, I'll try again.

Will one grenade do the same to a buffed heavy as it will to an unbuffed light? Or, will it take TWO grenades to have the same effect on heavies that ONE has on lights? Or. will it take THREE grenades to have the same effect on heavies that ONE has on lights?

I should've KISS'd better from the start.

In all honesty no idea. I don't see why grenades won't effect everyone the same.

When you're knocked down, you can either shoot back with slightly less accuracy than normal, or you can stand up, which takes a while, and kills your accuracy.

Thank you.

Truth be told, I'd like for grenades to kill, but I understand why Splamage has designed the game this way. I guess so long as it only takes one grenade to do whatever, I can adapt to that pretty easily.
