What does the last mesage you'll ever hear sound like?

Just found this little Gem (inspired by the Twilight Zone find's mention of CONELRAD)... Its from a Fort Wayne station (WOWO) in an accidental activation of the Emergency Broadcast system in 1971... about 20 seconds in you hear the activation message, followed by the poor news announcer spending the next few minutes basically filling in air despite having nothing to say, followed by an explanation as to what happened (Someone put the "Actvate" tape in the originating transmitter at Chyenne mountain, instead of the "Test" tape)

Here's the scary thing folks: If this was a real emergency, you might not have known about about it! Many stations either ignored the activation, didn't know what to do, or didn't get the activation.

More on the activation here: http://conelrad.blogspot.com/2010/09/code-word-hatefulness-great-ebs-scare.html

That is scary, good thing I live in hippie-land rather than the US. :D

The most disturbing thing I think is the last song I'm going to here is done by the Partridge Family ;-)

Scary if you can't figure out what the real emergency is... Nuclear strike? Meteor impact? Tsunami?

I believe if something really happened we wouldn't be notified until it's too late then they'll just play the national anthem on the tv, wish us good luck and god bless.

Oh well there is enough fear mongering going on with the 2012-hype. The UN even appointed an ambassador for alien affairs.

Good find...
"Please, please, do not call us to find out what the emergency is..."

That was by far my favorite quote in that whole thing. Just the fact that they really had no idea and that for the most part the guy was totally calm was amazing. Thanks for the amazing find.
