what am i doing wrong = can't see dwellers health bar : Fallout 4

anyone found a way to show health bars , "? sometimes they show but other times i don't see anything and they die to mole rats

You're not doing anything wrong.

It's a bug that's been around forever. Bethesda either refuses to fix this or doesn't know how to (yet).

Sometimes it's their weapon that causes the bug. Anyone I give a flamer to will just run around aimlessly without a health bar during attacks.
