What if Elder Scrolls was no more?

I would go and live in a cave of necromancers and try to reanimate the idea of TESV. If I fail I'll buy every TES game and compile a new province from descriptions in conversations and loading screens and will not rest until Tamriel is complete.

Set up a council called the blades who are dedicated to restoring normality to Tamriel and prevent risk of further invasion from daedra after a mysterious being called "Bethesda" stopped the protection of Tamriel and it all descended into chaos.

I would shoot someone.
I'm not kidding.

I tell you now, Bethesda, if you try and pull this crap "we're sick of the elder scrolls series" then I will shoot someone.

I will shoot someone with a bow and arrow, because that was my favorite weapon.
I'll probably wear some armor while I do it.

That is technically viewed as a threat and is enough for an arrest.

Of course should you use sneak attack and no-one see you could get away with it.

Same here, except "Storm the Bethesda HQ with legions of fellow fans, armed with pitchforks and torches." Which would subsequently be followed by "Arrested, and charged with breaking and entering, inciting a riot, damage to private property, and hostage taking."

After that, i'd move on with my life...

:banghead: I'd be in that legion. :intergalactic:

I picture the same thing that the Firefly fans did, except instead of calling themselves "Brown Coats" they'd be "Renrijra Krin".

to those of you who say nothing wouldnt bother me at all or just move on with my life,...WTF ???????......... you my friends are not even welcome into my house lol because you dont have a true appreciation for the game that launched a million happy faces with a game that lasted more then 7-14 hrs of time thus not worth me investing in them the money they cost... how could you give up on a game so easily that literally has 100s of hrs of playtime to them, wide open world to explore and exploit where plants rejuvenate themselves over time and every box and corpse is fully loot-able... the storys have a plot that actually does something in and to the world.... you should go back to meaningless shooters and linear games that you dont have to figure out things for yourself where there is no choice beyond what of 2-3 weapons to use with VERY limited replay ability not this gorgeous game that you can play for a year and still say wow i never saw that b4. I for 1 would be devastated and feel real loss like if they stopped building libraries or book stores.

Honestly if Elder Scrolls ended I woudn't care at all elder scrolls isn't the first to attempt this genre and style nor will be the last to in fact it isnt even the best to attempt this style of narrative I just hope other developers learn form bethesda software mistakes and try to improve on them instead of imitating the formula Elder Scrolls, Hellgate, Baldurs Gate and Etcetera I can go more deeply into this topic but this thread isn't the right place to share my views.

I've never played a shooter, and I've never played simple games with very limited replay. I only buy a game about every 2 or threee years and make sure that they are worth it. My gaming has been mostly Wizardys - X-Coms- Baldur's Gates - MW and OB. Tons of time put into those games.

Oh, and I have a family with 2 kids, a house, job etc., so my rec time is a bit limited ;)

I would wear a perpetual unhappy face, and any time video games are brought up I would lament the state of the video game industry.

I wouldn't want to see the end of The Elder Scrolls series but I certainly would like to see what Bethesda would come up with if given a clean slate in making a new fantasy RPG.

sadly i think that may be the case.but i know that another studio will take the charge of open world rpgs.my only thought is that it needs to be a company that cares about their end product as much as Bethesda cared about TES.maybe rockstar?

i would be very sad...maybe lost...with no game to fill my lust for an open world rpg. because lets face it. THERE IS NO OTHER GAME SERIES that does it even close to as good. chehahhaa baldurs gate lmao. hack and slash games should not even be compared to the elder scrolls. the only rpg ive ever enjoyed for even half aslong as tes games was the kotor series. and that was purely because of the story telling, and the fact that i love the starwars universe more than any other universe. and i still wont get any enjoyment out of the old republic. moslty because its an mmo, and will have a monthly fee. if tes dies.......WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? TES WILL NEVER DIE!!!!

Nerd rage, followed by nerd sorrow, followed by making a TES fan-game.

^^^
This.

Followed by not buying Bethesda related games thereafter, due to nerdrage.

I'd continue modding Morrowind and helping with the projects to the point where we had all of Tamriel built.

This would happen.
eventually the supernerds and superfans will make it so one could have any of bethesdas games as a base game, and be able to play all of their open world games on them, A.K.A. fallout as well. and a player could freely travel throughout the entirety of both planets.
the god mod, I would call it.

I would quite honestly be gutted! Moving from PC to PS3, I am hoping that another Elder Scrolls is coming out soon...but no word as of yet :(. When My friend told me to purchase the GOY Morowind, I thought why not, not knowing what the Elder Scrolls was all about, it hit the nail on the head for me in terms of gaming. It did take a while getting into Morrowind, but was the type of game I was after. Then, when Oblivion came out, It was even better!! I obtained Fallout 3, however its not the same as the Elder Scrolls.....hurry up with Elder Scrolls V....not too keen on the Wasteland and guns! :D

Wouldn't say that I am a Nerd, or a game nut, as I am terrible at them!...Just really enjoy playing them, and definately have played Oblivion over and over on the PC, still keep thinking to get it on PS3!

I'm getting worried that this "unknown" project will not be an ES game, but instead be some other kind of brand new series; maybe a new RPG game or some new adventure game by Beth.
