What do electric generators run on?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 6:21 am

I believe there are also multiple generators, at least larger ones than that was shown. As for what powers them? Perhaps they produce their own power in some capacity, as in once you set them up... they just keep going. In Todd's own words "It just works". Though it's not as if you find the generators out in the wastes, we actually have to use resources to build them. I also noticed something else, when crafting a terminal, you need the hacker perk....and when building a trading stand you need a barter perk...

which will most likely require high int and charisma in order to obtain those perks.

How about alcohol.

Then the player could craft build a still. And the "octane" of the alcohol is based on ingredients used in the mash. This would necessitate scavenging supplies. Maybe even having a speciality mash maker NPC.

The end product could also be used as barter and to establish Brahmin driven trade.

Actually that would be quite interesting since we can plant 'tatos. Could ferment them and distill them into moonshine/alcohol...It'd be cool to trade in weapons and alcohol.

hey, maybe the exhaust pipe and engine noises are actually part of a cooling system that pumps out waste heat. and that Fission batteries run hot when operating so it needs to stay cool or it will cause a tiny lil' meltdown.

or if we are going with the Petrol idea, i think I.C.E. generators are used because they are simple to build and maintain, while nuclear (presumably the electric toroid shaped machine) requires lvl'ing up due to the complexity.

But i think generators will work like the power system in the Command & Conquer series. which should be simple but vital. needs no fuel. (muh fission batteries) but you need you must have a number of them to power all you stuff. or wire your own system to redirect energy with breaker boxes to important areas of your settlement if you want to keep costs low.

I highly doubt the generators will use oil as a fuel source.. considering the reason the world of fallout moved to nuclear in the first place was the lack of fuel.. its what the war started over in the first place.

It's powered by a combination of handwavium and the very common and aparently endlessly renewable plotholium.

...oddly plotholium is a word on my thingy....

So it only runs on Tuesdays.

Do crumbs count?

And can it be turbo charged with strawberries?

It would be nice tho, to have the ability to power eg. lights for like ... years on a fission or fusion battery?

I don't know how much energy a powerarmor expends through x amount of usage, but those things seem raaaather powerfull.

For the generators sounding like internal combustion, I presume some bioorganic fuel is used.

That could end up being a bad trade for someone.

Trader 1: You got the alcohol?
Trader 2: Yep, you got the guns?
Trader 1: Yep, let's trade.
*trades items*
Trader 2: Alright, now give me the alcohol. *loads & cocks gun, aims at Trader1*
