Radiation or solar power.

Would be nice to make use of all the skin crackling rads.

In the E3 presentation there appeared to be 3 different types of generators.

The one that was built was:

Generator - Small

Screw(2)

Gear(2)

Steel(4)

Rubber(2)

Copper(2)

Ceramic(1)

[Produces 3 Power]

It didn't appear that it required fuel to run.

FYI

Microfusion cells are now just Cells and are used for laser weapons (possibly other energy weapons, but not plasma).

Plasma weapons now fire Plasma. I cannot wait to hear how they store it, or how large the explosion is when you shoot/detonate one (~mini-nuke without the rads).

Flamers are just modified Plasma weapons, so flamer fuel should have been removed.

What do generators run on? Probably nothing more than the materials to build one. If you can have a ignition module for a junk jet, which does not require any kind of fuel to set endless streams of junk on fire (even the inflammables), gennies running on air are not a stretch. I wonder what the flamer turrets are using? (lol)

There's always room for more plotholium in Bethesda games, it's an essential ingredient along with bugsomite and moresomkewlitis.

It extends into Black Isle's originals, too. The 500 pound gorilla in the room being Ghouls and bio med gel operating in their own playing field of logic and science.

The biggest question is why we have tiny fusion generators everywhere, instead of just one big fusion plant supplying all the electricity for everything else to run off batteries and mains supply.

If you look closely, in the trailer, there are multiple choices of generator to build.

Probably that the cheaper one runs on fuel, then the higher-tech ones might run on a nuclear power source (fusion or fission).

Seem odd though, to have a gas powered generator that run indefinitelly on no fuel.
