What ending to you want to be canon

Post » Wed May 12, 2010 10:13 am

Which FONV ending would you like to carry into the fallout canon and universe. I think the House ending should be canon. Feel free to discuss all of the smaller endings as well.

NCR, they have the best chance of stating a new country. It's too bad NCR and the Brotherhood can't form an actual alliance.

Canon will be the most popular ending on the networks. Currently: No Gods No Masters.

Anything but NCR and I retire from fo.

cl is the only other one that would have a chance, and I just don t think they can get it done.

I really want House and NCR, but House kind of ruined that.

You keep saying the devs have said this but you never provide a source.

I guess I'd prefer some of the No Gods endings but my guess is that none will become canon, as the universal ending states
"And so the Courier's road came to an end... for now. In the new world of the Mojave Wasteland, fighting continued, blood was spilled, and many lived and died - just as they had in the Old World. Because war... war never changes."

So whatever happens immediately after the battle of HD it's only a temporary situation and the writers can just decide that any of the factions/individuals that definitely survived takes over if it's necessary for the story.

I hope for and belivie it will be yes man. He's ending seems most likey to become the next. If house wins humanity will be in space before fallout 4 if cl wins, well I don't even know. If ncr wins nothing intresting happens with the region, just another ncr city. Yes mans ending allows the devs to do what they want in the next fallout that takes place in or close to the mojave, the region won't be so stable that it would be like playing sims while there. I think yes man

one of them said it, I didn't dream it! I WILL find the quote if it kills me... :)

I *think* it was Chris and he said (when Vegas came out) "we will be keeping a close eye on steam stats to see which path is the most popular" or somesuch. It stuck in my mind because it seemed like a really democratic (and obvious) thing to do.

Probably House, since none of the big four are destroyed.

I'm hoping the Legion, for 2 reasons:

1) It leaves the bad guys in a better position, which leads to a more epic battle with the NCR further down the road.

2) All of the canon endings in previous games are good. The Bad guys need to win every now and then, otherwise it just becomes boring.

1:] It also sort of renders the game sort of irrelevant.

2:] I'm not so sure, nothing stops the bad guys winning in-between games.

Yes Man, or independent Vegas.

In the future games, there probably won't be any references to who won the battle of Hoover dam, just that there was a battle and the details were lost though time.

Yes and no.

Personally, if a group like the old Enclave or Caesar's Legion were to win, I'd just get a sick feeling in my stomache. Just doesn't feel right. A sort of grey group like the BoS, the Khans or the Powder Gangers winning though, that'd be alright.
Perhaps for another Fallout title, but as for this one, the bad guys winning would just be too much. (unless if the Legion took a turn for the better after taking over New Vegas)

I'd like NCR to win, it just seems the natural order of things. Plus, I think it's the best ending for all people involved.

House. It would lead to a radically different mojave and it doesn't destroy either the Legion or the NCR.

Any of them *except* for House.

Hey, House - time to die, you pretentious, egotistical, megalomaniacal, narcissistic jack-ass!

House did his job by protecting Vegas. But he should have died long ago. He can't protect the world. He can't rebuild the world. He can't do anything outside of the Mojave. He saved it. Great. Now let somebody else come in and take care of the rest. Go away and die quietly in your hole. Like an animal.

To me, the big danger of Mister House would essentially be that it would be forfeiting human responsibility to a single human being potentially FOREVER. If humanity was ruled by Mister House for a century (or more - god forbid) then when he finally DOES die the human race will be completely unprepared. Not to mention forfeiting all self-determination.

Submission to Mister House essentially means an end to liberty.

He's not evil but he's a tyrant.

They still seemed the clear-cut 'heroes' of the story, just that they weren't these flawless beings and have made some bad mistakes in the past.

I just think that although NCR wasteland would be duller it is a safer, freer and better wasteland that the other people put forward.

Caesar's Legion: Obvious reasons why this would be a terrible outcome

Mr House: although I think he may run the wasteland well for a period, it is completely undemocratic and is more tyrannical than any other option (Caesar's Legion is a meritocracy and NCR is a democracy). Plus, Freeside demonstrates that he isn't always too sympathetic towards humanity

Independent: though I understand the desire for more freedom, I still think it benefits people to be under a democratic government compared to no state. Plus, it is likely to end in another tyranny with the Courier as head.
