what Engine do you think would be a good one for Fallout IV

I would think right now Creation Engine(SKYRIM) has a bit of a lead if they stay inhouse for it, but I wonder if ID 5 (or ID4) can be worked up for it. Bascialy I still feel that if they wanted to they could make a perfectly good Fallout 4 with ID-5 if they go a "Modernised" fallout 1/2 map

Id would not be suitable for a huge huge open world rpg such as Fallout, the new creation engine looks great and stop worrying abou the graphics there not everything.

ok that was a bit self contradicting.

The reason why I brought up the others (ID4/5 and Inreal) is that they are a lot closer to what Obsidian is used to as a development company. and to be honest It shows, (a lot of the above world static encounters are very easy if you come at them from a direction that the developer is not used to for one thing, for another, the walls are quite blatant in places.

Bethesdas parent company for now seems to be pushing them in the direction of "Everything Must Be In House And Not Allowed Outside Of The House Ever! from a lot of comentarys by there own developers on ID5, and to be honest If it would mean that we get Fallout IV sooner than later I would love to see Obsidian be allowed to make it while Beth focuses on Elder scrolls.

Have you seen the videos for Rage? It has huge outdoor areas and it uses the Id Tech 5 engine. It looks nothing short of amazing.
